Has anyone raced a Acura TL or CL Type-S. If so, with what car, was it a close one, and what was the outcome....?

 

Do a search for Acura. Tons of people have raced them.

If you have a 2k-2k1 Manual, then it will be a good race (assuming the TLS and CLS are auto, if it's a CLS - forget it unless you have a 2k2 6sp) The auto vs auto 2k2 CLS and Max will usually come down to the driver, although some people say that the auto Max is faster and 6sp vs 6sp, should also be a pretty close one also...

 

Ok, i agree, but has anyone ever had a good race with one before?

Yea I raced a few in my 2k1 5spd on the highway, and slowly walked away from them. But they all had passengers when I ran, I was alone. I now own a CL-S myself, and will say the CL-S is defintely faster. 2k2 Auto vs a TL-S is close, 2k2 auto max vs a 2k2 cl-s, CL-S has a better chance, its lighter than the TL.

I took a TL-S for a walk about a month ago.........have fun.

 

Auto vs auto better launch. Manual vs. manual drivers race. However I have beaten a auto 2k2 Max...but then again I'm modded.

Like Ive posted before, I ran one once, it was new, like my Max was at the time, and I took him by a car, and we took it up past 100 mph...

 

Now russ how come you never told us that or the Acura owners that when you raced and bragged about the 2k-2k1 5 speeds being faster?

How come you never told us or the Acura owners the fact that you won in your 2k1 5 speed because there was more people in the Acura? You always had flame wars with the Acura people saying the 5speed was faster...

i out ran a tls on the highway, 80 to 120 then we hit traffic.he tried to pass me but could not. i thought those cars where fast.i only race on the highway!!!!

 

Ummm 2k1 auto? I doubt he even raced you.

 

Dude! get off your horse! they're not THAT fast... sheesh I'd say the auto TLS vs. an 2k1 auto max wouldn't be a bad race, esp on the highway, maybe there was a car in the way or he punched it late..

I remember hearing that the TL-S was actually faster than the CL-S, opposite of what common sense would say. Since the TL-S now comes in a 6speed too, I think it would match up pretty well with the Max. Personally, I see the two cars as being pretty equal overall, not just in speed or hp.

 

yes 2k1 with mods! he was on my *** and then tried to pass me on left thats when i floored it, he could not gain ground on me . we went to about 120.you think he was just following me. it was a dealer plate type s . i know this because i taunted him from behind and beside before we raced...be the way ,my buddy has a 2k2 i35 and he thinks my car is faster on the highway than his 255 h.p. i35......

 

I had a 2k Maxima, I owned a 2k1 5spd. The 5spd has a hard time.

A 2k Auto Maxima will not have a chance. The auto 2k-2k1 is over 1 sec slower than the TL-S or CL-S. That is a fact.

 

TL-S does not come in a 6spd, only the CL-S. TL-S might next year, but no definite. The TL-S is heavier and is slower than the CL-S. It also has softer suspension so it doesn't handle as good.

 

I ran a local 2k Auto with ypipe, exhaust, udp, intake. When my 5spd just had intake and exhaust. I killed him bad, left him. Several times, highway as well. If my 5spd had trouble with a TL-S with passengers, sorry but the auto can't. He probably was just hanging back and didn't want to pass you since you got on it then.

guy, i'm just telling you what happened. at a light yes he would probilly smoke me but, not by much. on the highway i proved who was boss.lets see a tl-s has 260 hp and my car probilly has about 250 h.p.around 185 at wheels just like a 2k2auto .......i read a post before about the tls does not down shift on the highway for best performance.(will not utilize gears ratios for best accelaration) do a search.

I have but it was in my mums Ford E-150 MarkIII conversion van. We were pretty close up to 90mph them I(and the van) started shakeing like a ****, so I stopped.
Probabley a bad driver, aren't those supposed to be fast, we went from 50mph....."oh blasted, if only I would of had my maxima, then the day would of been mine[in a sean connery voice] .
