Have any of you guys had a problem with the tranny getting hung up in 3rd and even sometimes Overdrive. This is especially noticable when slowing down from 65mph down to around 20. The tranny gets hung up and refuses to downshift into second until you floor it and that usually results in a very harsh (somewhat unpleasant) slam into second gear. I have a 2k1 with 14k miles. The dealer already replaced the tranny at 9k miles but refuses to change the TCM and/or solenoids. They say this is "normal" operation.
Does anyone else have a similar problem? Even when rolling up to a stop sign and slowing down to 5-10 mph the tranny stays in 3rd gear and bogs if you floor it. I know there is a TSB for the TCM but does that relate to my problem? Anyone out there with a full copy of the TSB related to the TCM?

the TSB on tranny splippage covers 1st - 2nd and 2nd - 3rd gear..I think u fall for that. The full tsb is in the TSB thread on the first page.

This is pretty normal for our AutoMagic trannys. They stay up in 3rd during the California Roll stop a lot. Go a little easy on it, don't floor it so quickly and you wount get the BANG into lower gears. Give it some time to shift or you'll be replacing that tranny again and again.....

This sounds like a different problem. He's decelerating and it's staying in a higher gear.
