Shift Delay

When I floor my Auto 2K2 there is a major delay... I am going with Don's VB Mod soon to fix the problem but was wondering if there is any other problem I should be aware of (so i can have nissan fix it before i void my warranty)

I would consider that if VB recal can acutally solve this problem. There are few cases here with 2k2 auto tranny slippage problem.

Are you having any problems when you don't floor it? I just got a 2k2 and I am very impressed with how much smoother this transmission is compared to my 2k. But I haven't floored it yet obviously. Only 47 miles on it.

I have Don's VB in my 4th gen. The shifts are more firmer, but the delay/lag is still there. I would get this delay from time to time. Each time, it happens when I floor the gas. If I don't floor it immediately, but gradually increase pressure on the gas, I wouldn't get the delay. Odd. Maybe this is a better way to go. However, I guess I just got used to it, I can't help but floor the gas when I need to.

Re: Shift Delay

The Recal/VB mod only helps with the shifting of gears. Flooring it from a stop or while cruising doesn't really get helped much. If anything it's just the delay you experience while the ECU is thinking what to do.

Having an electronic (?) throttle control/drive by wire system doesn't help either. This is the same cause of hesitation that some 6spd owners are experiencing.

hmmm

first, check your ATF level.

second, if you have any rise in RPM during the delay, then you have a problem and should have that fixed prior to the vb work.

Actually, I have found that the shift delay is almost gone once I had my FrankenBerk on (Frankencar Midpipe, Berk Intake). Try that, it helped me out, actually the Berk by itself seemed to do the job....
