Will a difference in Y-pipe & B pipe diameter be a problem

I have a 2.25 inch(I wanted to go with 2.5 but the guy at my muffler shop said it would not fit) custom catback exhaust with magnaflow muffler, Now I want to add a Warpspeed Y-pipe which I think is 2.5 will this be a problem. Plus has anybody went the warpspeed on a 2k Max. I can't get in touch with Dallas so I don't know if it is even available. How do you think it would sound, would it be loud?

THANKX

BTW this is my very first post so be gentle with me

No problems, just make sure installer knows what he is doing.

How is 2.5" not able to be fit under a 2K ?

I was able to use (2) 2.0" pipes going back, just had to be angled correctly, but 2.5" goes in w/o a problem. He may not be able to get it over the rear beam cleanly, but 2.25" is fine.

2.25" - 2.5" for 2K2

1.75"-2.25" for 2K, 2K1

Both systems can be improved upon.

Check my sig, 2DuhMax. 2.5" piping works fine. And I didn't have to modify or remove the retaining brackets either. No banging, no clanging.

If you're going to install a Y-pipe, do that BEFORE you make any other exhaust system mods. Trust me on this one.

And then drive around with the Y-pipe and your OEM catback and see how you like it. If you want more sound, begin by removing JUST the resonator. If you want more sound after that, get your hearing checked.

chimp just when i think i got ur ride figured out, another thing changes, u probably have one of the most custom made exhaust systems in a maxima. the only thing i cant really figure out is the that O2 sensor system on the max, have u removed any, or all? or are they all still in place, i know for a fact the setup i got in my car right now i wont pass emissons, not even close to it, and the service engine light is on, due to the o2 sensors, and yes im positive its becasue of the O2 sensors, the only thing OEM about me exhaust is the cat and the rear section which will soon be replaced with an RT cat. but i cant reset the Ecu as of yet because nissan hasnt released the cartriges that i would need to plug into the ecu scanner so i cant do a damn thing but watch all the readings, which doesnt help me one bit.

How much of a difference sound wise and performance wise would it make if I went with the Cattman B-pipe. Should I then go with the Cattman y-pipe instead of the warpspeed y-pipe Because I have not heard very much about warpspeed.

2K1HoMax, another thing changes ? This was last year stuff. Nothing on the exhaust has changed in 5 months
Dual 2.0" was just a bad experiment to see if I could make a BMW Style Dual exhaust system, it was crude, and had butt welds everywhere, like Cattman's Y-Pipe. Never remove any O2 sensors. 2 sensors measure front and rear banks, and 2 measure A/F around the Cat.
Factory Y-Pipe is still there, just gutted, nothing changed. RT Cat designed for the 2K max, and just a 2.5" B-Pipe ? To 2.5" rear section w/ flange before the muffler.

OBD-II Generic Setting(Import Cartridge.) [Snap-On Scanner w/ K2(A) Key.]

im not trying to put words in your mounth just asking a question. now with the snap on OBD-II cartrige, i have the scanner and a bunch or cartriges, but u see ur car is a 2000, and the scanners ability is still limited with that cartrige. but mine is a 2001 so it wont even pick up what car it is...hmmm im gonna try to tell the scanner that its a 2k, because the front pre-cat has been gutted a little while ago and that damn ses light has been driving me crazy. hopefully that cartrige will be able to clear the code, if it doesnt im gonna have to wait a while til snapon get the cartrige for the 2k1. til then im gonna put electric tape over the light or something.

Seemed like you were, from my point of view, SnapOn has Asian IMPORT or DOMESTIC Cartriges.
I have the 01 Imports, but I diagnosed 2001 cars w/ 99 Imports, just use OBD-II Generic on 98-99 Import Cart.
Power On, Scroll past Manufacturer List, and you will see OBD-II Generic.
Trust me its there, use OBD-II Plug w/ K2(A) key.

If you gutted the precat, then you shouldn't get a SES light, it might be your main cat or unless you've been really messing around w/ emissions controls.

well one of them anyway, the y-pipe takes care of the other 1, but still suggest that people dont do this. and yea the ses lights back on, it lasted about 150miles, but oh well im gonna have to make myself give up 30sec about every two -three days to reset the codes, (hate the light, its anyoing) ill just have to wait the the Ecu of yours to come through be4 this light stays off permenently.

Ok now someone help me with my problem. Please

I have a 2000 Fed spec with Stillen Y-pipe and RT CAT and I get a MIL light from my CAT with P420 code. Any ideas on this?

If I go back to a OEM CAT will that correct my problem, or will I have to change my Y-pipe also, I don't want to go back to the stock pipe is there something IO can do to have the light not come on?
