K&N panel fit problems

Hi, has anyone else experienced fit / seal problems with the K&N replacement filter ?
(2001 SE) They include two gaskets which have to be applied to the air box filter frame to keep the K&N in place. Even with the gaskets in place the filter does not seem to seat properly in the frame.

I noticed the same thing. Just put the filter with frame in the box with the gaskets in place. It will seal when the clips are locked in place.

Hey...what's the benefit of getting a k&n drop-in? I read up on the intakes, and logic tells me that the drop in has the same kinda effect. So what kinda increase if any should i expect w/ the drop in and is it worth getting? also what's up w/ removing the air scoop when you put in the k&n. someone mentioned that in another thread.

import tuner tested a maxima with K&N drop-in and yielded a 4hp gain....but the max has HK muffler already.

if u have a bone stock and just put in a K&N...believe me, u wont feel anything. With OSCAI, u might feel a bit of engine response.

the reason that they removed the air scoop is b/c they have an intake....I dun see a point of removing it for the drop-ins...you lost ur source of cold air.
