Did the slippage only happend between 1st to 2nd?
did it happen frequently? how much gas did you need to press in order for it to happen? did you need to floor it and manaul shift to 2nd?

Mine slipped between 2nd to 3rd, like a slight delay in shifts. They finally found metal shavings in the tranny and replaced it under warranty. The new tranny has not slipped once.

1st-2nd only. With 1/2 throttle... especially noticeable when accelerating uphill.

i havent driven any other 5th gens so i dont know if im slipping or not. i only have a problem in the mornings... so im thinking that its just the cold engine? the owners manual says to turn overdrive off when going up hills... it helps. apparently OD isnt very good at downshifting up steep inclines.

i want to have the nissan fux0rz take a look at my tranny and check for slippage. is this going to cost me the $7X.00 they always charge for bringing it in?

It think it is to keep the tranny from cycling into/outof OD as you apply more power to maintain speed uphill. It is a really annoying cycle... downshift, speed up.... upshift, slow down... downshift, speed up... an so on.

Mine slipped from 1st to 2nd and from 2nd to 3rd under pretty heavy throttle. Did it when shifting in drive or shifting manually. I told the dealer about it and informed them of TSB. They fixed it after I complained about 3-4 times. SM was very nice about about it but was surprised that I new about TSB. Transmission still slips a bit but much better than before. SM is good and overall has been a good experience/relationship so far. There is a lot of info that can be searched for.

Mine slipped from 1st to 2nd at close to full throttle. It gets more frequent as time goes on. It used to do it once in a month or so to everyday on the same route. You don't need to manually shift it, just in D is fine. Also it occurs more frequent when it's cold and/or under load (uphill + 5 persons in car).

it seems like i am always the odd ball...mine slips severly in reverse when i try to pull out of my driveway in the a.m. sometimes if i back in, it does it in d also...it almost feels like the e brake is on, and the engine is on morphine...no pep at all, like it is lagging. i don't stomp on the gas when i first leave, just try to leave normal...i have a 1/2 gravel driveway for now, so obiously i am not goosing it...the max has enough paint chips already n e ideas? do you think it pertains to the tsb? vb calibration? or just gremlins?

happends to mine aswell but it seem if i put the O/D Off button to where it lights up (O/D off trigger) it somehow helps the slipping though my slippin only seems to happen from 1st to 2nd..

The cold morning slippage in ours goes away for a few months after changing the fluid. As well as the long delay between 1-2, and the sometimes violent 1-2.

1st to 2nd and 2nd to third.

From my experience it seems like 1st and 2nd and reverse are the first to go. I was still able to drive around in 3rd and fourth gear.

yea it seems to not always happen but its definitely happening to mine so im worried about how long ill be able to use/drive this car before it dies in the middle of the road on me lol or drives me off a cliff. started last week for me.

and since 1st-to-2nd gear seems to be on its way out does that mean eventually ill have to start taking off from (2) or (1) instead of (D) in the mornings?

edit: oh and im sorry for bumping a older thread i know how mad you trollers and forum police get, but i truely mean it...and besides this thread seems very useful.

I have slipping on my tranny (this is my third one) from 2nd-3rd. Only under light throttle. Under heavy throttle the car shifts crisp. A little hard from 2nd onwards, but thats because I had the transmission shop increase the valve pressure a bit when they rebuilt it last time.

Soft 2-3 shifts in cold weather at part throttle until the engine is warmed up. Full throttle shifts are fast and firm.

I get a slight "thud", like a hard shift, from 1st to 2nd under hard throttle sometimes but it seems fine otherwise. I just don't gun it anymore. It's not as much fun but I need to save gas anyway .

get a MAF cleaner to fix the thud/jolt feeling. I just thought this was natural. did the MAF clean and now when i gas it it pulls through the gears, not just reving high then a thud... its only like 6 bucks for the can.

Mine doesn't slip( maybe it does ) but it does shift wierd when shifting from 1st to 2nd. Its like tranny is just throwing it on gear and not happy about it... Its like a little kick that I can feel through the throttle... Other than that its fine and this is the only reason that make me regret About buying this car..

I get peeved that my GXE has a hard, pulling/jerking 1st-2nd shift anywhere above half throttle, while my GLE shifts butter smooth no matter what the temperature, rhyme or reason.

MAF clean? Huh? I was gonna replace my TCM, but what's this about MAF? What, clean my sensor? Do explain.
