OBD2 Question

Thanks to the Maxima.org forum, I learned a lot in a short time about "Service Engine Soon" light! Thanks guys!! Anyway, As stated in some posts, I had Autozone check my ECU with their tester and it showed no error codes - and they checked it twice. Has this happened to anyone before? Also, if I reset the "Service Engine Soon" light, and then have a mechanic check it at a later time, will that wipe out any problem codes I had previously? In other words, will he not be able to diagnose a problem that might actually be there? Thanks in advance.

If you reset the ECU and there is still a problem, it will trip again, soon. If you are having a problem then I would have someone check it out. If it is something that you know the issue then keep driving the car till you get it resolved.

I think that is what you were asking.

Could be a loose gas cap. Reset and if it comes on again, I'd have a dealer or someone who specializes in Nissans re-check it!
