Ok... I might be nit picking here but I need to know a few things.

I have a 2k2 6 Speed and am wondering if everyone has these 2 "problems."

1) Roll either of the front windows down, then shut the door. Does it sound like the window is rattling inside the door???

2) Find a nice cool and QUIET place. Start the car with the windows rolled up. Wait a few seconds for the high idle to kick down. Press on the accelerator gently... slowly reving from idle to about 1000 rpms. Does anyone here a small knocking/ticking noise from what sounds like the engine compartment? I can't hear this noise from outside the at at all OR inside when the windows are rolled down.

Mebe im just going MAX crazy

 

The small knocking noise is probably the ABS self test, and the window rattle....deal with it, or buy a benz

 

I know about the rattle of the windows..I thought it was b/c of my aftermarket speakers..maybe not then. It sounds like every time I close my door, the window is gonna break..

 

1) yeah, when i close the door w/ the windows down, it rattles quite a bit imo.

2) don't know about #2

 

Thats' what the nissan technician said, when i told him about the wind noise....

 

I dont think its an ABS self test because it only happens when you press the accelerator and after the car has already been on for a min. or 2. Someone is going to have to test it, like i did, to see if its there also.

I don't think you're any crazier than the other max-heads here.
I've got a 2K2 SE Auto and I just went out and tried it.
I did here a very slight "sewing machine" kind of ticking at idle or slightly above. by 1K the engine hum starts to obscure it.
A bit picky, yes, but I wouldn't worry about it ... or rather... I'm not going to worry about it.

About #1, You can't make me try it. I rather be ignorant of such things (sticks head back in sand)

dont close the doors so hard when the windows are down. you can even close them with one finger when theyre down because of the pressure is equalized.

 

Im more concerned with the noise that I am hearing.... it definitely sounds like a sewing machine or something... anyone else?

 

could be continuously variable timing
