Happy Maxima Owner... more...

Hello, I just bought a new 2002 Maxima SE. So i'm new to this community. But not new to the Nissan community since I own 2 300zx turbo's.

I just got this car on monday and on tuesday I got a stone chip on my bumper. I looking to get a bra to protect the car cause it look prone to chips, but can't find one. does any one know where I can get one even if it is custom?

Also I've never broken in a new car please let me know what the correct procedure is I haven't gotten the manual yet.

Thanks in advance for your help.

Sincerely,
Junior P Zilver

I think it's silver? or dark gray. It's the 6speed SE w/sunroof. It's really basic cause I didn't want any traction control or leather.

Sounds like it is Grey Lustre. Just curious, why don't you like leather. I'm asking because I have cloth right now and would consider leather in my future cars but have never actually had it before. Welcome to the board!

I had cloth in my 2000 and just upgraded to leather. It smells good, but other from that , it doesn't do much for me.

i've got black leather in my maxima... 6 months and 14,000 miles later u can def. see wearing of the leather.

i use turtle wax leather conditioner every 2 weeks on my leather and still the leather creases become more and more pronounced...

im not very happy with nissan quality leather, but then again im comparing it to the leather in my mom's 2001 acura rl

Welcome, you'll find a very close knit community with the occassional flamer ofcourse.

My car is the stripper version too with a sunroof being the only option. I'm looking into getting aftermarket leather as well. I've heard so-so reviews of the OEM leather and the only way I could have gotten OEM leather was with Bose, Meridian, auto temp, Navigation, and other high priced options, so at the time it wasn't worth it to me.

My car was wrecked recently and right now its in the shop. They are putting the 3M clear bra on it. I'll let you know what I think once I get the car back.

It may be a dumb reason, but I had leather in my Z and my cars are parked outdoors. I get burned when initially getting in. (summer) and freeze in the winter. However the winter problem can be cured with heated leather seats. plus they severly crack in the long run.
