Rim Decision

Are Enkei RS6's any good? I am looking for something that would allow me to see the rotors, etc better and also be lighter then stock. 18" ot 17" is good.

I have 17" RS'6, but just ordered 18" c2's. They show off rotors good and they look cool when your rolling. Could not tell much of a diff between stock rims as far as performance. Im getting rid of them because every other car in Denver has them and most are 15" and 16" gives my max a bad image. Going to keep them for winter rims.

My wheel story...

I just finished putting on 2500 miles on my 2k2 Max after having it for 6 weeks (A trip from NY to D.C. put on 600 miles). Well any way on the Saturday night of Memorial day weekend I came home about 2:30am and found the garage door left open in my apartment building due to a mechanical breakdown which the superintendent did not fix. Anyway, a message was left on my answering machine at 6:15 am, by the Super saying that my wheels are gone. My wife woke me up frantic at 8:30 am and I ran down only to see my new Max on the floor....not even a brick or anything...but on the rotors. The rotor were large enough to leave a two ince gap between the bottom of the car and the hard concrete.
Well, the building took responsibilty because of the broken door...and the replacement cost is $577 per rim, $27 per center cap (the little 2 inch cap) $930 for a set of Bridgestone Potenzas and $350 for a mechnical inspection and replacement of backing plates (which are still on back order as of yesterday) for rotors. Total: about $3700.00
The wheels are took more than a week to come in since they were also on back order.

Pray this don't happen to you...

The next hot item of theft are the HID lights....I have been told there is pretty much no way to prevent this in the NY area but to keep you car in an indoor garage all the time. Any suggestions in protecting the lights?

Wow, that's terrible! But at least you don't have to pay for it. If the wheels got stolen from the street, you'd be paying that all...****ing thieves!

Most RH Evo rims are nice, as are Axis, Volk Racing... I saw an 02? I35 here in Seattle with some 18" Volk Racing AV3's looked pretty good, but needed a drop though.

Yeah they are fine. What do you mean about the offset? All that means is where the hub is centered on the wheel. Make sense? They will work fine.

If your lowered it will be close to rubbing. 30 is not the correct offset on a 8 inch wide wheel. Recommended offset on a 8 inch wide is 35-40mm.

I know G-Racing Mito's are a thin 5-spoke wheel, that shows off a lot of the rotors....just a suggestion.

I love the price of the Konigs though, and I like the looks... would getting a 18x7.5 fix the problem?

I have 18" Enkei RS6s in silver on my 2K SE. They look pretty nice, I've gotten complements on them. They're supposed to be pretty light too, compared to others.
But I've also heard that a lot of Honda ricers have them because they are cheap. Everytime I see a Civic with the same rims, I feel like I'm cheapening my Maxima by having them on. Just waiting till I get those Volk LE37Ts...
