LOL, who was picking on a poor little Accord V6?

LOL...

Intro
Outcome

The Accord V6 was a 99 coupe with just intake and a catback. The Maxima was a 00 auto with:

Cattman CAI
Cattman Y-pipe
Unorthodox Racing UDP
Random Tech Cat
Level 10 Valvebody
Tranny cooler
H&R Springs
KYB AGX struts
50-shot dry kit NOS

Here's the juicy stuff

CLIP
from 0 to about 75 or so, he had probably 6 or 7 carlengths on me. From 30 he pulled something nasty on me right away, and had to have been about 10 or so cars by the time I hit 85, and this was repeated again the 4th run. The 3rd run was from 55, and he pulled hard again till I hit 100 where he was about 6 or so cars ahead. The last run, we pulled over so he could open the bottle, and went once more from a stop. The juice really got him off the line hard, and I gave up about 70 or so because he was a few light years ahead.
geeeeeeezzz...so ya opened the bottle on him even after you already beat his a$$ 3 times by a wide margin? lol...who was this?

LMFAO

Give him a break guys, he seemed pretty nice about getting beat badly. I'm surprised how much respect these V6 Accord owners give to our Maximas. They sound much cooler than the civic si kids.

So that's why the little focker asked me to write down my mods! He doesn't really have a friend with a Max. Now I'm hurt.

Evil man, evil.

I was thinking it was you too from the car and mods but this guy at AccordV6.com says he's from Arizona in his profile. Aren't you in VA beach in the Navy?

Actually, I'm on m way out to Seattle for a transfer, and am visiting relatives and girlfriend in Lake Havasu, AZ. Looks like he's a brand newbie, so it looks like I gave him his first excuse to post. Can't beat that. I'm going to go find him tomorrow and screw with his head a little. "Guess what? I found out I'm only running on five cylinders..."

I've ran against a modded elantra(here).
He ran 16.2 - I was impressed, thought they were slower than that, 16.2 should be good enough to beat on riceboys in civics.

Hehe, actually, the bottle was his idea. After the last race he asked if I wanted to try one with the bottle. I was sort of confused, but I agreed anyways. It's nice to check and make sure the damn thing works once in a while. Now if I could only fix my vacuum hose problem. I haven't seen the guy around lately, but I think I'll ask for a rematch and give him a second or two head start. Then again, I wouldn't want to get too cocky.

Well, the problem with the vacuum hoses is that they tend to pop off when I spray, and when I put hose clamps where they connect, the damned things just break. The hose I've been using was the highest strength I could find and was working fine until fairly recently. I don't spray if the pressure is over 1000psi, but since 900-1000 is optimal, the setup I have should hold up to that. To be honest, I'm really not mechanically inclined or know enough about it to screw with it too much by myself, so I'm probably going to end up taking it in to a shop to get it fixed. I was told by a friend of mine with a nitrous-boosted Avenger that putting a tiny hole in one of the vacuum lines could alleviate enough pressure to avoid the hoses splitting completely, and still give me plenty of pressure to spray. Haven't tried this yet, but I know that on my last race with the Accord one of the hoses got about a 1 inch split about 80, since that's when the extra "boost" dropped away. Maybe Patrick knows someone in Vegas that can help when I go up there tomorrow. It won't hurt the car any, but it sucks to have a nitrous system that doesn't even function. I only have a week left in AZ, then I move to Seattle. I know there's going to be a lot of decent performance places up there, but it'd be nice to have it working now.

Re: Re: ...

First off: I knew they were talking about you!!! Didn't waste any time in Arizona, did you???

Secondly: We'll take a look at the hose problem when you get here tomorrow.
Bring it to my "garage" and we'll get it fixed!

Hey, maybe we can invite BigDog over to weld the friggin' thing on!

Hey, it gets boring when you have 42 days straight of vacation and really don't have a purpose for a while.

I put some tape around the split which should work for now. Just no spraying. Maybe I can find some better hose up there too.

BigDog?? You don't mean Dixit do you?
