It doesnt matter what the ad says, it all depends on how good of a car buyer you are..

That's why I'm driving a 02 max 6spd, versus an 02 alt 5spd. I TRIED to buy the ALTIMA. They were yanking my crank! Trying to get me to pay $2000 over invoice (car of the year bull...) The max was selling for $2000 under ivoice and they couldn't wait to move em!
I couldn't believe they were going to give me a better car for less. Go figure...I'll never understand car dealerships.

yup, same deal. I walked into the dealership to check out a 5-speed Alty V-6, sales guy says "how'd you like to get a better car for less?"
The Altima has a better rear suspension, definitely better looking rear, but the interior really is crap compared to the Maxima's.

Alty's were $2K over invoice, Max was $3k under invoice, pretty much a no-brainer at that point.

Yeah, exactly. I remember test driving the altima and looking over the interior..talk about cheap plastic. I couldn't believe it. Ever put together a model? Looked like they needed to trim the flanges, there was extra plastic everywhere. I liked the exterior look of the Altima big time, especially the taillights..but then I drove a Maj Blue SE Max automatic and I couldn't believe how much nicer the interior was...everything from the way the doors shut, to the way everything lined up....the Altima looked like $15k car vs a $25k car. I didn't like the guages all that much either...although I prefer the orangy/yellow look to the Max's green/blueish tint.
