Brake wear question

My max has about 36,000 miles (already) and I noticed that my rear brake pads have worn out a lot more than my front brake pads.

Is this normal? I always thought my front pads would go first...

that's unusual since Max is FF.
just wondering, when u wash ur car, have u noticed the front wheels are dirtier than the rear? if so the front is wearing out the brake more than the rear. But tell u what...I have seen the rear has more brake dust on mine for couple times when I washed my car.

I think...

I recall seeing a few posts around here on this subject and one of the areas that has been identified as one to check is the e-brake and if it is tensioned/adjusted properly and releasing all the way...if not, increased drag and wear might be happening.

Re: I think...

I think it's stated in the manual....this is what I recall.....to pull the e-brake handle all the way up and count how many clicks that u can hear. shouldnt be more than 15? clicks...or check ur nissan dealer (want money again?)

well....I almost always pull my e-brake up after I park (out of habit). Could this be a contributing factor?

I would be more inclined to...

have the cable adjustment itself checked out. Using your e-brake is recommended to keep the cables, mechanicals of the system moving and in line with each other...

thing is, even though all else may work perfectly with each other, if the cable itself is not adjusted to allow for a complete release of the brake, there will be a problem.

I doubt it....unless u are driving with ur e-brake on. I too have e-brake on after I park my car.
