question about maintenance

Hi,
I currently have 15k miles on my car, and according to Nissan its time for 15K miles service, which cost $309.00 before tax.
The last service was required at 7500 miles, and I did that for 100 something dollars. i was just wondering if 15k miles service is required? b/c according to their guideline, I have to spend $300-500 every 7500 miles to maintain my max? I'm so broke

I would recommend you to check what the 15k miles service includes. I bet you most of the items are check/inspect (i.e. inspect accessory belts, inspect brakes, etc). Most of the stuff you could easily do yourself. Most likely, it will also include oil/filter change (piece of cake), tire rotation ($20 in any tire place), maybe replacing the air filter (even easier than the oil change). You could save a lot of money if you decide to learn a bit about your car and do most of the stuff yourself.
If you decide to go this way, make sure you keep record of what you do (with specific dates, mileage and even better, keep receipts), for warranty purposes.
