Yeah, right. A REALITY check, that is!

On my way home I was swinging through traffic like Tarzan on a vine. I found an opening to the exit I wanted, but this &@#$ SUV was in my way. About the time I got even with his rear bumper, one lane to the right of him, he turned on his right blinker.

"S@#*$! Go for it?" I thought to myself.

The I saw some lettering at the bottom right of the beast, just above the bumper.

T Y P H O O N

"Better back off." I tapped the brakes a little, and at the same time, he hit the gas.

Dang those things can move!

We were already going about 75 mph. It only took him about 1.5 seconds to make two car lengths on me. Boy do I love how those things sound!

So, dude, if you were the one and you're reading this -- thanks for humbling me!

Only made them in '91, '92, and '93. Here's a good link:
http://www.syty.org/

I don't know why they quit making them. I think because of the body style change in '94. I know GM has tried a couple of newer versions with the new body style and superchargers, but from what I read they're performance on the newer version prototypes didn't come close to the originals.

0-60 on the syclone is supposed to be 4.9 and the typhoon should be about a second more because it weighs quite a bit more...i have an article on the syclones so this is what i'm basing this off of...they can go 0-100 in just under 18 seconds (which usually means 17.5-17.9)...a friend of mine just got a typhoon last night (92 in almost perfect condition)...its black w/ a black leather interior...i told him i want a highway race, not a street race...i think he will kill me 0-60 but i will gain on him...maxima stock time for auto is supposed to be 15.4 1/4 mile at 92mph...i don't think it takes us 2.x seconds to get up another 8 mph...he will have the lead on me in lower end speed, but i think i can take him in top end (especially if we have miles of road to race on...his car is governed @ 126 he said and mine can go upto 143...) should be a good race...i'm hoping to win, but i think he will unless we race for awhile...but once i get my NOS, that will be a different story
