Return To Stock B4 Service???
Return To Stock B4 Service???
I am bringing my 2K2 in for service on the Control Arm recall and the hood rattle. Should I take my Berk out and put the stock back in? I really don't want to, but won't the dealer give me ****e about it? Please let me know. Thanks!

Although, I would expect them to say something if I was getting service related to the intake. I would probably swap intakes then.

Thanks for the info guys. It's just the hood rattle and the recall, so I think I'll leave it on. Frankenberk (or Berkencar :-) would get really sad being back in my garage after making such good friends with my 3.5. Thanks!

Ugh. Now I'm nervous. Well, I haven't put the Frakencar midpipe on yet, so I suppose it wouldn't be a big deal to put the stock intake back on, except that I stripped the screws for the air duct (hehe). I'll put it back stock, might as well, and then have them do all the repairs in one shot, even if it needs to stay there more than one night. God am I happy I haven't sold my old ride yet :-)
I just thought of something.... For those of you who have a significantly larger mod than I do (i.e. exhaust setup, CAI, ect.) are you going to return to stock for the one day when you need to do the recall? I am talking to the 2K2 .org members...

I would do what y2kse said and talk with a certian service writer and get to know him. I work in a service dept at a GM dealer and I see mods on cars and trucks everyday. I usually dont care, I love seeing what mods people have done. The only time it becomes an issue is when a certian mod causes a problem. Cat-back exhausts and air intakes are usually no problem , being 'on-the-bottle' now that is another story. I would leave it on an maybe even show them what you have done and talk to them about it, they may have some suggestions.
