I just bought a 2k1 Maxima it is a dark grey/silver color...

I neeed to take it in to get the windows tinted but I have a few questions....

- Should I get mirrored tinting, or black tinting? I think the mirrored would look nice with the body color..... but I am not sure. Does the mirrored tinting keep out as much sun as the black tinting?

- I never got the windows tinted on any of my vehicles before. What the deal with people not getting the windshield tinted? It seems to me thats where you want the most protection from the sun for the dash etc....

It's illegal to get the front windshield tinted I believe in every state. As for the type of tint, I just got my car done with 35% metallic tint and am very impressed with it. not too dark, not too light. Some may disagree though, its all really a matter or personal preferences.

 

Couple of things...

1. don't get the mirror look...too ghetto/ricer. People have leaned toward metallized films for durability/sunlight properties, you can use the search function on this topic...lot's of threads out there.

first, are you sure they are tinted and it is not just the rest of the tinted interior making the front glass look dark? This can be an optical illusion quite often.

Even so, and if they truly are, it is because they don't know or don't care. Not knowing is less prevalent since tint shops should know what they are doing. Not caring could be the case.

Kind of like speeding. Yes, it is illegal. Does almost everyone do it (some more than others)? Yes.

i just got my 2k2 Sterling Silver tinted 35% charcoal all around, alot of questions were answered on the thread. Seach Just Got Tint and should find answers. I had alot.
