Installed a spoiler on my GXE

I just wanted to share the joy with you all. Thanks in part to KPazzo for selling me the spoiler, had that put on. There was an issue where shop tech couldn't figure out where to tap the wire for LEDs, so he went all the way to the rear stop signal. There's a bunch of wires under the trunk lid, I thought GXEs are prewired, but after checking out, tech said no.

NOWAY, GXEs do not come with a factory installed spoiler, but the dealer installed the factory-made spoiler for you.

Did the dealer also install the sunroof? Trust me, Y2KMaxGXE-R. My wife's GXE came with a FACTORY spoiler and a FACTORY sunroof.

spoiler

I have the gxe, and simply tapped into the wires under the trunk lid for the positive and negative, it makes our rides look so much different doesnt it? I loved teh way my max looked after the spoiler was slapped on... took me 2 hours to get it done right... I didnt want to mess up!!

I think I saw a GLE once that had a factory spoiler. I think it was listed on the factory sticker. It also had a black piece of plastic where the high mount stoplight (on the back parcel shelf) would have been.

y2kse: Was the spoiler listed on your factory sticker just like any other option?

you are right. y2kse: you may have a factory spoiler and a sunroof nut only thing factory is parts..GXEs do not, I repeat, do not come with spoiler and sunroof as a standrad option...unless you custom ordered your car from Nissan.

I did not, I repeat, did not custom order my wife's GXE from Nissan. And both the sunroof ($899.00) and the rear spoiler ($479.00) are listed on the factory sticker. So you, my friend, are mistaken!

I'd be happy to prove this to you at your convenience. Send me your e-mail address and I'll gladly e-mail you a copy of the sticker on my wife's GXE!

I might also recommend in future that you ask questions rather than make statements. Cleaning egg off your face can be a real b!tch.

yeah do that: funlover2225@yahoo.com

GXE in its basic form does not come w/spoiler for 2000 model year, because mine didn't come. Not sure what other options on your car, but you really can't do much in the GXE trim, the choice is limited compared to SE trim.

It's possible that the spoiler and sunroof could have been part of the comfort and convenience package. I'll let you try to figure that out. The sticker's on its way to you . . .

If you can, forward it to me too. I bought my car used and would like to see it. Not a big deal, but just to see.

thanks for email, but the way you scanned your sticker is that it doesn't show the right part of it. So far from what I can see, no mentioning of the sunroof and spoiler. If its standard equipment, it would be under Exterior features on the sticker. What year is your Max? Can you rescan your sticker and email again? thanx

That's weird, Y2KMaxGXE-R. I sent both sides of the sticker (two jpegs). I guess you only got the left side.

I resent the right side of the sticker. That's the side that shows both the spoiler and the sunroof. Let me know if you don't receive it.

According to the 2000 Max sales brochure (I was looking at buying a new car in 2000, but didn't pull the trigger until 2K1), the spoiler is like splash guards or the microfilter. You could get it on any Max as a factory option. The Sunroof (on the GXE) required an Auto Trans, plus the GXE C&C.

I know that Nissan changes it's bundle requirements all the time, but this is as authoritative as I can get...

My wife's GXE qualifies on all counts, KanMaxSEAE.

What. You don't know what a dead stock, Sterling Mist, 2K Maxima with 16" OEM rims and a spoiler looks like? If not, give me your e-mail address. I'll take a picture of it and send it to you.

I know what it looks like!!! Are you calling me stupid or something? BTW- he does not have 16" stock rims, he has 18"!!! Next time before you say something, think about it first.

y2kse you know you are right! I have read the description of standard equipment on carpoint and edmunds.com, and saw cars @ dealership, but this is the first time I see Nissan equip GXE with spoiler and sunroof. On the other hand, look at your MSRP dude. How much you paid for your ride?

Sorry to interrupt this lovely conversation, but my 2K1 GXE did NOT came with the spoiler. I have the convenience package which did NOT included the spoiler at the time of purchase. I had to pay an extra $$$ for that!

A lesson in protocol, Igor911. We can't read your mind. In future, please be good enough to let us know who you're directing your question to. If you don't, it's assumed that you're directing it to the person who was last to post.

I didn't think the spoiler or the sunroof were part of the c&c package, Jief. Otherwise they would have been itemized under the description of that package. On my wife's sticker, they were not so itemized.

If...

your GXE was a very early 2000 build, perhaps it IS due to Nissan trying to figure out and settle on packages, standard equipment, etc. for a new body style release?

That may be possible. The build date on my wife's GXE is 10/99.

You're right! What I meant was that I was charged for adding the spoiler to my car at the time of purchase. I never said it was part of the package. Sorry.
