Well let's see, we have someone wanting to contact someone else personally, the person that he wants to contact is a known PW anyway, so I say yes! hehe
Circo, post what the problem is. I can help!

Ok jeff here it is I am bidding on the SC in the for sale forum but didn't want to alert all the 5th gens to the deal. I was wondering if 2.5K is a good price on the Stillen SC kid used for 3K. I know it depends on how the kit was broken in and stuff, but still need some kind of input.

Now you see the position I took!

Here I thought it was some life or death thing hehe. Well, AFAIK, I've seen used ones go for maybe lower. It would probably depend on the condition of the SC(not how it was broken in but how it was maintained etc) If the kit was in excellent shape, has very low miles(like you say) and he sends you every bolt and nut(in a very organized manner), it might be okay. It's not a steal though. Maybe market value. If the internal bearings are shot or near shot, you will have to ask Delio how much a rebuild is. It's north of $500 or so though. But sonsidering the very low miles, it's definately worth a 2nd look. Try to verify the 3000 mile thing. Very difficult to prove the miles unless he can show a receipt of purchase within 6 mon-1 year.

How could the bearings be possibly shot with 3K? Maybe if he pounded the crap out of it, but without extra components that he would be selling with the kit its not possible to up the boost

Well, that would be my general thought too. "if" the 3000 mile thing is actually true. If he had some type of oil leak to the sc, it would starve the unit of oil and wreck the bearings. Verification of miles is essential here. Just trying to play devil's avocate here to minimize the possiblity of fraud.

Yes, but there is no possible way to verify miles? or is there? so what do you think is a fair price sounds like this guy really wants to get rid of it to even consider 2k. I've seen V1's go for 2300 used for a very long time. shipping this thing from FL is going to be an arm and a leg!

You can't really. But ask him to scan the receipt of purchase. If he bought it only 1 year ago, I can't see him really putting alot of miles on it. ie.. buy 1 year ago, marvel at it for a month, arrange to have it installed, then drive it for a few months, then decide to sell it. etc.. dunno?

How do you know he bought it a year ago? or are you just giving an example. See alerted one dude already. So if he is willing to go lower what should I offer since I have dibbs

I'm sorry Circo but I have to say this, PLEASE ASK FOR THE PURCHASE RECEIPT OR MAYBE AN INSTALLATION RECEIPT. IT WILL SHOW THE DATE OF PURCHASE OR DATE OF INSTALLATION. The year thing is just an example.
ie. IF HE BOUGHT IT 4 MONTHS AGO, I DOUBT HE WOULD HAVE DRIVEN AROUND THE WORLD A FEW TIMES IN THAT 4 MONTHS RIGHT??
There is no way you can verify 100%. You can only get as much info as you can and make your best judgement. If you get lucky and he had a shop do the install, the shop install receipt might show the odometer mileage at the time of install. Then you ask him to email you a pic of he odo now. See?
As far as an offer, you should have dibs on the asking amount. If you go lower, then he should be free to entertain offers. But remember cash talks.

ATTN: JEFF
Here you go I called Liberty in Florida.
Installed 7months ago just removed. The odo reading was up 3200miles since the install and running 5-6 psi. The guy at the shop giving me the numbers was like the manager or something. He said that he told the dude with the sc that he couldn't run higher boost because they don't make a smaller pulley. Hmm they need to read some more. The guy also said that internally the snail is barely broken in bearings and everything is practically brand new, he only did one oil change since SC.
