Ground Control Coilovers- I need help!
Ground Control Coilovers- I need help!
I have the Ground Control coilovers with Eibach springs. They came on the car when I bought it so I haven't had the opportunity to play with them before they got mounted.
Okay, I am going to write this in lamens terms because I don't know the technical names.
Is the threaded red thing supposed to be able to turn? I can turn it AND the gold thing that you tighten on one side of my car, but on the other side of my car, I cannot turn the red thing- JUST the gold thing. I can screw the gold thing up and down the red thing, but the red thing won't budge.
I can also feel that there is about 3/4 inch of threaded red thing being wasted below the gold thing on the one I can't turn. I would like to utilize the extra drop.
Do I need to just give the one that won't turn some elbow grease? Or is supposed to be immobile like that and the one that IS able to turn is just loose?
Does that make ANY sense?

Oh my...I like your layman's terms! If I recall correctly...you should be able to turn the adjustment ring (gold thing that tightens with an allen wrench) and NOT the threaded body itself. It should remain stable and should not rotate at all. Someone please correct me if I'm wrong, but that's how it is on my Escort GC suspension. The only thing that should be able to move is the gold thing as you adjust the height higher or lower. Good luck amigo!

So basically on the side that DOES turn, something is horribly wrong then?

For the rear red things, yes, they can be turned. For the front red things, no, they shouldn't turn.
The gold ring will not go all the way down on the front struts, but they should on the rear struts.
