G35 and Z posts

We will be deleting posts that are not maxima specific. Obviously posts such as 'Z part fits max' will not be deleted (and can be posted in general or your specific gen forum).

Those who have some good links for G35 and Z fans (forums and sites), please post them here. There are some great forums for the Z already. You'll find information about the Z/G35 there anyway.

Only links please.

Atleast the G35 and 350Z are Nissan related.

Why not add the Altima, Sentra, Acura TL/CL, IS300, Mustang, or Grand Prix GTP to that list while your at it? Let's just pretend other cars don't exist so we can live in our own happy little world.

Why are they so special?

287hp/274tq 3.5VQ
Independent Rear Suspension
Rear Wheel Drive
Base Price: $26,000-$28,000

That's why they're so special.

And since you brought it up, what's so special about the countless Acura TL-S threads that litter this board? Or Lexus GS400 posts? Don't be a hypocrite.

Well put. The cars share the same engine, be open-minded.

Holy macaroni, I don't know what buttons we're pushing, but settle down homey!

I can understand if these other posts on the Z and the G35 are directly off-topic, but if it's relative to the Max, chill out!

I was just saying be open-minded to the cars since they all share the same engine. I know it's probably not the place for it, but you can skip it if you don't wanna read it.

Topic: 350Z/G35.. skip it!

Damn i LOVE the 350Z, if i didnt get the max, no doubt i would be in line for a Z right about now. For just over 30,000, it seems like a great deal.

Dude, as soon as I break even on the Max, I'm selling it and buying a 350Z or Lexus IS300 if the Z has too many issues.

What I don't get is how the 350Z runs a 14.1 in the 1/4 mile, while an Altima runs a 13.9. The 350Z has 47 more HP!!! What's up with that?

i believe you are refering to the guy from one of the altima forums that ran a 13.9 Correct? Motor Trends numbers are very conservative, the average driver could run a 14.1 in this car, somebody who knows what they are doin could break into the 13's easy. About this guy who ran the 13.9, I don't doubt it, but he probably beat the hell out of his clutch. If you are willing to do this in a new Z then I am quessing 13.7 easy.

And one more thing:
Motor Trend tested the 3.5 Alty (5spd) at 14.7 in the quarter, and the guy who ran the 13.9 shaved 8 tenths of a second off of motor trends time. So if this is any sign of how Motor Trend test cars then we can expect the Z to run between a 13.3-13.4 in the quarter.

This is the ONLY thread we have for 350Z info and I'd like to keep it short and compact with 350Z information/links. This way people don't have to weed through OT stuff.

Not trying to FLAME, I just went through and cleaned up MY junk posts.

I was at the dealer yesterday....they had a silver one...LOADED.

That car is more beautiful than I thought it would be.

Kinda sad story behind it though. The guy who ordered it lost his left foot and cannot drive anymore. (should have gotton an automatic...J/K that was not funny).

The tag was just over $40,000 what the helll happened to 26 - 30 K???

Oh well, I did LOVE the rims and exhaust, interior, exterior, lights......on and on.

The couple of Z cars that I saw were sold so no test drive. BUT, the GM has driven an auto and a 6-speed and this was his candid opinion :

" Disappointed " , " a sharp looking body on a tuned Maxima SE " , "troublesome vibrations at higher speeds ", " unimpressive low-end torch even with the 6-speed ", not worth a trade up if you already own a ' 02 Maxima SE " ( which I do )
