2001 Bumper Scratch TSB...is there one?

I've got a 2001 with scratches caused by the trunk lid. The TSB says it is for the 2000 model though. Is there a bumper TSB for the 2001. Has anyone with a 2001 had this problem?

Guess not...

at least it is not looking like 2001's have the issue. I know in my case, there is plenty of clearance.

Not sure if it makes any difference, but do you have a very early build 2001?

Nope, it was a later build 2001. I wonder why it has been getting scratched?

any body work, etc. done to the rear that may have 'closed the gap' so to speak? Any little bumper accident that may not have looked bad but could have slightly changed the position of the bumper?

Other than that, I give....

is repositioning the bumper something I could do? or is it something the dealership/body shop would have to do?

Re: Have you had...

I have a 2001 ... but my neighbor backed into my car and now I have some scratches. The body shop put the wrong clips on the bumper and I got the scratches. Since then they have fixed it but some of the scratches still exist. I have stopped complaining about it since it's just the bumper. Good luck getting yours fixed, the dealers I have been to have never heard of it.

I would just....

take it to the dealer and see if they will honor the TSB anyhow.

I do not know what it takes (bolts, clips, etc.) to remove the bumper, so I have no idea how 'adjustable' the process is.

Sorry...

Some idiot bumped my car at work recently. That might have caused the bumper to realign a small bit. Do y'all think its worth bringing in to get fixed? There is no problem closing the trunk, so the friction must be minimal at best.

Don't you really hate living in a big city where bumping other people's cars is accepted behavior?

I have to get my rear fixed (someone sideswiped the corner of it 'trying' to park...don't know who did it) and my front needs fully replaced...

..

I have scratches on my bumper that just appeared out of no where. Could you please describe the scratch i.e. what location etc. etc. or maybe even a pic? Because in my case I used to think it was because of offloading baggage from the trunk, til recently I discovered them getting worst without me hardly using the trunk anymore. Just open and shut once in a while.

I can't wait to move back down south...the land of oversized parking spaces, almost non-existent parallel parking spaces, and affordable homes with enclosed garages!

sorry i don't have a cam. They are right on the inside lip of the trunk, where the trunk lid and bumper meet-the same area i.d.'ed on the 2000 bumper tsb.
