Anyone use a windshield sun shade ?

Do those things work ?
I have tinted windows but I was wondering if
a shade on the windshield would keep the car cooler.
01 SE automatic.

In this type of heat, I don't think anyone should be without a sunshade.. I have all my windows tinted (except the windshield, obviously) but without the sunshade, the car get extremely hot.. its not good for the interior at all.. or anything you accidentally left inside the car. Definitely get one, even if its cheap, it'll do more good than harm. The hard part is finding one that will fit the windshield perfectly...

Get your windshiel tinted this will help dramatically. Get a 50% solar tint on the windshield. It is very very light, you can't tell it is even on when inside the ar at night, but will keep your car very cool.

Dont get the windshield tinted

Go here

Custom sun shades

I have them for my car...easy to put up...they STAY up and fits perfectly. I have one for the front and back. The back one I tuck in the headliner to keep it up. I am getting some for the side windows now.

BTW, investigate tinting your windshield. Most cops will let you go with other windows tinted but that one I am almost positive is illegal to tint. Check your state laws or call your local police department.

I'm in VA and use a cheap $5 one all the time. You bet it makes a difference.

I have one and use it everytime I park outside on a sunny day. You can definately tell the difference in temperature and more importantly you're protecting your dash and seats from UV rays!

And yes, use a shade! It does help...trust me, a black car with black interior in Houston is a prime test of ANY kind of cooling help!!!

My friend ordered a heatshield from canvasworks. It fit his windshield perfectly. I just ordered one for my Max yesterday.

the one at the dealer's work awesome..i think its the heatshield..its very stiff..double sided..and very sturdy. Makes a big difference. I use one from kragen and it works very well!
