service engine soon light
service engine soon light
it/s on again. At 50 k it comes and goes. I have a real problem with paying the dealer $ 89.00 to tell me i need a worthless repair.
I cant help thinking that this light is a scam to get me into the dealer for service. Am I wrong or just cheap ?

to my knowledge
there are no falsing issues with the light. given our trouble with o2 sensors and coils, there is a very high possibility you need a repair.
But also, those items *should* fall under the 60K eng/drv train warranty, so you might not really be out anything.

Hi Tim, Maybe you can help me. My SES light came on after I installed my Stillen intake. It stayed off when I returned the car to stock for a smog check. The light was reset by disconnecting the battery. It came back on when I reinstalled the Stillen intake, so I decided to drill a hole in the Stillen to make a new home for the air temp sensor. The light still came back on. I then returned the car to its stock setup, however, this time I removed the resonator box which left me with an additional 3" intake hole. No light for several days and everything seemed ok. Off to Home Depot for some 3" flexible tubing, a 3" connecting piece, hoseclamps and a trim ring for the underside of the car (the entrance for my new CAI). Did the install and wow, really nice performance. I regained my low end and the car ran the best it ever has. Uh oh, the light came back on. WTF! What could be causing this problem?
