Vehicle Dynamic Control

Questions: Does Vehicle Dynamic Control (a $900 option) reduce torque steer on the SL model? Would VDC be worth buying for any reason, even if it has no effect on torque steer?

VDC is an essential option. It came standard on my 2001 330i and I ordered it on my 04 Max that is due to arrive by the end of May.

Vehicle Dynamic Control (VDC)* Vehicle Dynamic Control

A car's performance is a complicated thing. Torque ratios, g-forces, steering angle, yaw rate. Good thing Maxima is available with Vehicle Dynamic Control to keep a watchful eye on all of it. An arrray of sensors "read" if your Maxima is moving from its intended line of trajectory and respond immediately to compensate for understeer or oversteer to help keep you out of trouble. View

*VDC is designed to help improve driving stability, but does not prevent accidents due to abrupt steering or by carelessness or dangerous driving techniques. Always drive safely.

This is only available on the automatic trasmission right? I'm not sure how VDC could work on a manual. I guess the helical LSD is the MT equivelant?

riddle me this

as far as VDC is concerned it is not a LSD, it modulates fuel AND brakes to accomplish its goal.

If you can't have VDC and LSD, then how come the G35 coupe has it?

HUH?

VDC is not a replacement for LSD, VDC is a bad driver/mistake fixer.
