What are the parts differences in the SE suspension tuning verses the SL? I have an SL, but thought about tuning the suspension for a little more handling.

As with other Nissan cars, there's a choice of an SE and SL trim. The SE includes the sports tuned suspension (stiffer springs, shocks, etc.) and can be had with a 6 speed manual or 5 speed automatic. The SL has a softer suspension and comes with only a 4 speed automatic for now.

I know the differences between the SE and SL. What are the parts differences? Is it just stiffer springs and shocks? What is the etc.? Sway bars? Bushings? I guess bigger wheels and tires of course.Originally Posted by DriveFast

I guess what I'm asking is what after-market parts could I get to get a little sportier handling for my SL?

Not a motor head....... but
the stab bar in front & rear are exactly the same size in SE & SL. Both have same multilink in back. Doesn't leave much (struts, springs, and wheels as you mentioned). Can't imagine putting new springs in the new ride. Sometimes I think I miss the tighter SE (I drove both), but I have such a long commute I figured I better go with the comfort.
If you get a chance get out and drive the Mazda 6, it's no Max but what a tight little car! The thing is basically built around a roll cage, no sway. Reminds me of the days of the 325i.

Struts and springs probably stiffer on SE. Originally Posted by MaxPilot

Not sure about the Front Sway Bar on 04 SE, but on 2002 SE it was larger compared to the GLE and GXE models.
I know 04 Max now has independent rear suspension so you guys got RSB there as well. Maybe it is different in SE compared to SL as well, but I am not sure.

I read an article that said it was as close to driving a BMW that you could get, with out getting a BMW... it was a bit small, and the interior was blah to me.Originally Posted by DriveFast

SE and SL use the same stabilizer bars; front 22.2 mm and rear 26.5 mm.Originally Posted by Dany
