Just wondering why every time I click on "Whats faster..." your name is at the top? You should read more, then you will know and won't have to take anyone's word for it...

I like the '04's and most of their owners, but it seems that there aren't too many previous Maxima owners that own 6th gens (I'm talking only of this board)

Its a family sized sports sedan with a generous amount of horsepower and torque. Why ask which is faster? Just buy one and enjoy owning and driving it!

There are a couple of ways to look at that, but there are definately more than a handful in the 20-30 6th gen owners that frequent this forum.

I think the 5speed auto Max is faster than the 4speed auto Altima.

Just look at some of the responses on this thread, and look at the date they joined

I would think the 04 MAX which is 225 lbs heavier, but with an extra 20 hp, should be the same with an 03-03 Altima? I think its a mode point, it would all come down to the driver..This is comparing a auto to auto, and 5 sp to 6 sp...

We would have to see the first dyno on the '04 max to actually know if there is a difference torquewize and if the extra 20 hp is there

Hey-hey-we are one big happy family- we have our differences- but
when i comes down to it we have the same mother(VQ35)
I'm very interested in what goes on w/the 6th gen being that its new
and it has many great features ( I stand by my thought of the hideous front end)
I say the auto Alti is faster (cause it is) My brother in law (from Mass)
has one and hes ran 14.5 (w/ intake/exhaust) on street tires- thats pretty fockin' fast- I havent seen many sub 15 times for autos here
being that they're stock - but i dont believe an auto 6th gen w/these mods can drop a half second of a quarter

I've seen a 7.1 sec run for an Altima in Road and Track for the auto. It would be a tie damn near every time. I think both cars are mid 6-7 sec cars.
