Upgrade to Navigation system?

Hello All,

I have a 2004 Maxima SL, and it does NOT have the Navigation system. I would now like to get that installed, but am not sure if it is a factory only install option, or if its something you can do later?

Does anyone know?

Thanks,

Matt

Someone on freshalloy.com under the Murano forums is trying this. Apparently the nav systems between the Maxima and Murano share many of the same parts. So far, the only thing we know for sure is that it's much more expensive to put a factory nav system in than to buy the car with nav to begin with.

I think you can do it but it will never come out as nice as the factory nav system. I think the cost is areound 2500 buck pllus the expense of the time for whoever rips up you are to install check your dealer and see how much the parts cost. the company that makes the nissan navi system is called xanavi but their website is mostly in japanese.Good luck
