The 2004 Maxima Wins Best New Car $23,000 to $30,000 for 2004 by the highly respected Kiplinger Magazine. I must admit I'm slightly biased, but I'm really not suprised
What do you think? here's the link:

1) What were the other competitors in this category?
2) Kinda takes the shine off to have the Max juxtaposed next to another Kiplinger winner - the Buick LeSabre.
3) I'm sure this magazine is "highly respected" by someone, but I sure as heck never heard of them. Are they an automotive magazine?
Cheers,
Jaeger

I just got back from a 500 mi. roundtrip and all I have to say is wow! I have 2200 miles on my 04 SE and the ride was beautiful. I got 28 mpg, even with all the passing I was doing. No rattles, shimmy's or anything else, I am addicted to driving this car!
I usually have faith in Kiplinger's Auto Issue, but did you see what they picked for "Best in Class" in the $30K plus range?
The MERCURY MARAUDER! Gimme a friggin' break.
And, the Murano isn't even mentioned up front in the mid-sized SUV category.
I dunno, this is pretty bizarre even in comparison with Consumer Reports' way of thinking.
