04 maxima mobile video is in!

OK I got everything in finally. if someone will help me figure out how to post pictures I will put them on here.

I went with a sony dream system due to the color. I have yet to find a better match. I also added a wireless RF modulator so we could listen through the factory speakers. I have extra rca inputs to plug in an X-box or whatever else I want.

The other cool thing was the fact that this DVD player plays MP3s as well.

The only things I do not like is the size of the DVD player make it imposible to find a good place to mount it. Obviously mine is under the seat. I also dislike the way the remote works. I will most likley add an IR repeater in the very near future so I can point the remote forward and use it. instead of having to reach up and point it directly at the display.

Ok here are some pictures. I'm hoping to get better ones soon.

nope the install was easy as pie. I paid the nice people and they put it in.

I used to do custom audio install work when I was in highschool in the days of the mini trucks. We did all kinds of stuff including cut through etc. However seeing how this car is less than a month old I figured I would let them do it since they are insured and if they screw it up they can pay to fix what they broke.

I'll more than likley relocate the DVD player and add an IR repeater in the next few weeks.

It was around 1100 installed. I have to take it back today because its only playing black and white and the bottom of the screen is garbled.

I'll keep you posted.

Neat... did you see how they ran the wiring to the unit? Did they have to remove the headliner or just fished it through?

Just wondering.

They droppped the headliner and ran it behind the side airbag on the drivers side.

As far as the View goes when the monitor is down it really hurts your rear view. With it up you cant even tell its there.
