XM Shipping from factory?

Okay, I'm probably just being a nervous expectant father, but has anyone actually SEEN an 04 with factory XM? Since I had to factory order to get other options that I wanted, I went ahead and tossed in XM for good measure. That's making me a little nervous about the whole order now since I haven't seen anything on any lots with factory XM, nor do I find any within 100 miles on the Nissan web site. I can't wait much longer than the promised 60 day wait since I'm borrowing a vehicle from a friend until my max shows up. I'd hate to think the order got killed simply over the XM.

Of course, the dealership says "noooooo problemmmmm...... order went in juuuuuuuusssst fine. We should see it on schedule". No VIN yet though and its been 5 weeks.

Yes....

Yup, I've actually seen a Max on dealer lot with what appears to be factory XM... I assumed it was because the factory window sticker showed the $400 XM line item. However, I was soooooo disappointed to see a huge black antenna on the roof with the 4 inch 'tail' for the wire routed to back window!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm appalled at the exterior appearance of this "factory" option!! The antenna looks exactly like the obnoxious aftermarket ones rather that the small, body colored factory antennas on the Acura TL.

I just can't believe this is Nissan's factory XM!!

XM Factory Radio

Yes that's the way they look. I also seen an XM factory Max's on the lot and there was the ugly xm black box on the roof with the 6" pig tail going back to the middle of the rear window. I would have thought also that they could have done a better job with the kit also. jdc1203

Have them install the antenna on the inside of your rear deck. You will still receive a great signal and its not an eye soar

Yeah, I may end up having to do that. Hopefully, the factory one won't show up too badly on my max since it's Onyx. I am in TX and travel mostly wide open roads with no tall buildings, so the rear deck option would probably work fine if I need to go that way.

Yes, I the Audi antenna is huge, and does actually look like a shark fin... but at least its painted body color, and does not have the wire trailing from it into the rear window!

My max came with XM radio preinstalled. It doesnt look bad at all but maybe because mine is black on black. When I was changing the premium blowse speakes and amps at my local stereo shop the guy asked me if I wanted to replace the stock XM antena with one that was half the size so there seems to be another option.

Yeah, I was looking at sat radio but I got to see the antenna in person (on a Red Oppulance Max, same as mine) and didn't much care for it... I was too thinking about mounting it on the back deck. Has anyone actually done this? Are there many drop outs? If I can't mount it on the back deck, I'd almost rather have a CD/MP3 changer or something... its too bad that they didn't put MP3 decoding into the radio. Actually, that would have been awesome... they even have an LCD, even with out the nav option.
