I recently bought an 04 w/out NAV, and want to get rid of the foul orange screen. Anyone know if an aftermarket screen will take input from the Max in it's aux port, so I don't lose the AC info and whatnot?

 

I doubt very seriously is you will ever find such a beast.

 

I have to admit, after seeing pics of the '04 max w/o the nav screen, it's just one fugly and retro-looking screen IMO. No offense to those who like it, but it just screams 80s. Hope Nissan resolves this for '05, I would like to see Nissan come out w/ a dot-matrix version of the non-nav screen, esp. w/ some color to it.

 

I hope they do replace the screen. I don't think it will happen considering they put the same screen in the Quest.

Now, I'm not very technical, but why couldn't the color Nav screen be put in place of the regular screen? Other than the fact that you wouldn't be able to use the GPS functions, everything else should work the same.

 

I imagine the color screen from the NAV package would work, but the problem is getting a hold of it. I'd ultimately love to retrofit the NAV package, but I've been told you can't get your hands on it unless your Max comes from the factory with it installed
