More Maxima styling cues?
This is a photo of the upcoming Mercedes CLS, courtesy of Road & Track magazine. I thought it was a cool-looking car, so I showed it to my wife. She immediately said, "Hmmm. It looks like your Maxima."
Mercedes might not be too hapy with her styling assessment, but it's certainly a compliment to the Maxima!
(And she's right ... it does favor the Max!)

Actually, I see plenty of styling elements from the Maybach...which makes sense.
They are also saying that the new GS resembles the Max.
But God forbid anyone draw any similarities between the lowly Saturn Ion and the might Max .

According to AutoWeek (and I quote)
"CLS will be available in the United States and early 2005 with the company's new 24-valve 272 horsepower 3.5L V6 in the CLS350 and the familiar 3-valve-per-cylinder 24 valve 306 hp 5.0L V8 in the CLS500. About 18 months after the CLS goes on sale, 2 new 32 valve V8 engines will join the lineup: a 350 hp 4.6L and a 400 hp 5.5L. When they arrive, the existing 5.0L will be phased out of production. But before the new V8 engines arrive, Mercedes plans to launch a CLS55 AMG model. Due to premier at thr Paris Motor Show in September, it gets the Supercharged 500 hp 5.5L V8 engine used in a variety of AMG models.
Need more? In preparation for the new AMG developed 6.3L V8 engine in 2006 Mercedes has also registered the CLS63 name, which AutoWeek sources say will replace the CLS55."

"Engines will include a 160-bhp 1.8-liter super-charged inline-4, a 260-bhp 3.2-liter inline-6 turbodiesel with 413 lb.-ft. of torque, and a 4-valve 255-bhp 3.5-liter V-6."
Obviously, someone's wrong here, and I hope it's R & T. In fact, if I had to guess, I'd say R & T's numbers are the European ones!
