So so sad.....

Brooklyn isn't much better. I remember a 4th gen that was completely stripped from wheels to struts to steering wheel about 2 blocks from my house....

People have no respect for others property...

Sorry to hear that my friend. That really sucks. Better the rims than the whole car though. I had my '02 Max stolen last August and was totaled in the process of a high speed chase. It's a terrible experience either way. Don't let them get you down though. It took me a while after getting my '04 Max to want to start modding it again, but finally I overcame my fear. It's a passion for me which was stronger than my fear. I guess you just have to take as many preventative measures to help deter thiefs as you can and hope for the best.

Aside from the fact that the Maxima is a great car (in my opinion) you'd really get screwed at this point trying to sell/lease the car due to depreciation.

Do you still have the original rims/tires? If you don't, PM me and I might be able to help you out. Or maybe these WERE the originals, in which case please disregard.

Did you have any locking wheel bolts on the rims at the time?

nope but it wouldnt matter, they usually snap them off (lugbolt and all) or have keys.

i know another car that had them which didnt help....i'm going to put two different ones on when i get it fixed, this way it increases thier time that much, and it cant be snapped off (they snap them by taking all the others off and pushign the wheel really hard)

You're kiddin'. You mean a hardened steel lugbolt will break before a (relatively softer) aluminum alloy wheel will? I guess I figured they'd do too much damage to the wheel trying that!

Geez.

did you have an alarm on the car? I live in a bad area.I just put an alarm on it hopefully they won't steal them. I had 02 max, my headlights got stollen 3 times even w/ alarm going off. They took them in about 10 seconds they seemed to be like experts on maxima's..

Sorry to hear about your rims. That really sucks. These savages have to regard. I guess this is going to sound stupid..but they could as least put the car on blocks....

wheel locks will only slow them down...with the right hydrolic tool you can just rip the lock off....obviously these A$$s could not care about damageing the car.

sorry to hear about your loss....then we really need to SLOW these A$$ with 4 to 5 wheel locks on EACH wheel for a total of 20 to 25 locks (carry 4 to 5 sets of wheel lock keys with you).

That story just ****es me off so much. I really hate theives who have no respect for other peoples property and who are poor and in poverty so they feel the need to get money the easy way, by stealing. I just don't get how some people even have the ***** to do that type of thing.

I'm glad I became a cop to get scum like that behind bars where they belong.

rims

I'd get some aftermarkets. I took my stock 18's off for the winter because i wasn't getting good snow traction. I went with 17's for a snow tire with different rims and the car felt so much lighter and faster. I'm going to get some lighter 18" rims so I might be interested in selling these.

but see if you have 5 diff locking kits, then the ******* will break into the car, looking to see if you had the locks in the car, then if they dont find them, im sure they'll break somthing on purpose because they're mad at you because you wont let them steal your ****...

my car is worth like $7000 but if anyone does anything like that I would want to just kill them.......

I've had other stuff stolen from me and all i have to say is.
MOTHER ****ERS!!!!!!!!

Hey guys I live in Pelahm bay as well, and about 3 months ago, They broke into my maxima, they didnt take anything except a 700.00 PDA and a 400.00 coach bag from my trunk. I guess they wanted something quick to take. And it was right infront of my house. We should get together one day and go track this sob.

Damn, bro. Sorry to hear about this.

What's w/ people anyway stealing other ppl's shlt? Can't they get thier own stuff w/o stealing from others?

For future reference I'd invest in a set of wheel locks if I were you, that small investment can go a long way in protecting your rims.

I hope you find the s.o.b. that stole your rims and hope he gets what's coming to him

keep us posted on what happens!

--UPDATE-- (for those who care lol)

i picked up my car today, grand total offfffff $2200 (only 2 rims were stolen by the way), plus now i needa go buy some wheel locks and more bullets for my gun

so lets call it an even $2500 (yea im buying a lot of bullets)

actually im gonna put cameras too, i dunno, i get to see them steal them next time maybe lol

i had contintental extreme contacts put on, and they are directional tires so of course the monkeys had to put one on wrong. so when i picked up the car i hadda drive down the street to the tire place and wait another hour to change it around. i have yet to drive the car on the highway to see if the rotors are warped and giving me brake judder, but ill edit thisp ost when i do tonight. theres too much traffic now

and GOD DAMN my car feels fast again after driving the trailblazer for a week lol

thanks guys, and remember.... if you see anyone stealing rims RUN THEM OVER!

You can't have a gun ... you're in New York. They're illegal there! You should move to Texas ... we respect guns here!

Let us know how the Contis do when you get a chance to try them out ... especially in the wet. Lots of us are going to be in the market for rubber in the next 6 months.

oh i beg to differ

rifles/shotguns u can do..... pistols is a big project but at anyrate, the reason i got conti's is because i had a defective stock tire so i had to replace it (out of my own pocket cuz it was "worn" 75% ) and u cant just put one, so i put two on there. anddddd they stole a stock and a conti, so when replacing them i just had the body shop order two conti's and i put the other one on myself.

which if u can follow, leaves me with a set of 4 lol.... anyway what i was saying was i already have been driving with them and they are great, much better than stock.
