@*^#! Chip in my wheel finish..

What do you guys use when you get a chipo in the finsih of your wheels? I have a 1/4 inch chip on one of my front wheels and i dont want it to get worse. Any suggestions? Should a use a spot clear coat or what. Thanks for your help.

Not sure I can answer your question, but I have several dings in mine after 15,000 miles. Apparently, rocks get thrown up and whack the wheel, causing this.

The good part is that the underlying wheel is aluminum alloy, so rust isn't a big concern. The top coat, though, is a silver paint, with clearcoat over it. Matching that silver would probably be a bear, but it might be worth the effort if the chip is big enough to be a concern to you.

Whatever you end up doing, it's a good idea to wax your wheels when you do the rest of the car. Most people don't think of that, but it really helps protect them.
