remote control range

Anyone know how to increase the range of the remote control?

I park so far away to avoid door dings. I would like to roll down the windows a little earlier in order to vacate some of the heat.

I think the only way is just to keep fresh batteries in it... Mine works from pretty far away, a good 100 feet, though I havent tried to see just how far away I can get.

I noticed immediately that the range has been expanded since my 2000. With that remote you had only about 25-30 yards to use, but without measuring I would say I am getting near 100 yards. Now you have me curious enough to start measuring. (I just hope this does not turn into mine is bigger than yours.)

If you want added distance you can hold the remote under your chin as you press the buttons, this will increase the range or it is extremely useful with a low battery.

Mine is 50 yards but I would like to get 200 yards, so I can roll the windows down as I leave the office.

My wife thinks I'm crazy parking so far away since I live within 1,200 yards from work. She doesn't understand why I dont just walk to work.

I'm amazed at the range of this remote; far greater than any other I've owned. Even going thru walls it has a good range.

I haven't measured the '04 distance yet. I have gotten over 250 feet with my 2K. But that is not from every direction. There is one certain angle behind my 2K where the remote is limited to about 20 feet. From most other positions, the range is either very good or great.

It is so nice when parking at the far end of the mall lot, and having walked about 100 steps toward the mall, to suddenly have some doubt about whether you remembered to lock, and with one whirl and press of the remote, remove all doubt.

i have gotten about 100 feet away..but amazingly it goes through about 30 feet of concrete (office is in a dungeon), with my car being about 30 feet outside of the wall.

Measured last night and stopped at 100 yards but "still going."

Only if it's in your left hand with fingers extended and your right hand in your back pocket while leaning slightly to the left and foward....

Or is it right and foward??? I can never remember.

No, I think you have that confused with a self-pleasuring technique.

Your remote lets you roll the windows down?

The front windows will open if you hold down the unlock button on your remote for more than 3 seconds.

Wish we could close the windows too. Guess I just have to use the key.

All four windows will go down if you have the Elite package.

keeping fresh batteries is the only way... unless you could somehow manage to amplify the RF modulator...

mine's brand new and i've gotten it to work from about ~200ft away

While walking back up the drive from the mailbox today, I pulled out the remote and tried to lock the doors of my '04 SL, which was inside a garage with double-brick walls (outside walls are brick, and garage is also veneered inside with brick). From 300 feet, it did not work. As soon as I passed through the wrought-iron gates (which probably affect radio signals), it worked fine. I measured this distance as 275 feet.

This is almost exactly the distance I get in parking lots with my 2000 SE.

I have been able to open and close my garage doors from over 300 feet away in both my 2000 SE and 2004 SL with Nissan's Homelink Transceiver. I love that, as I can sail right up the drive and into the garage without slowing down and waiting for the door to raise.
