Just installed white reverse-glow gauges [pics]

Well, ordered the reverse glow gauges off Ebay, I figure now that I should be able to change the info screen color to blue, this'll match nicely. Got these installed this morning, and they look great. There's a separate switch that gets installed to change the color of the gauges, either blue or green, and adjustable brightness control. Pretty cool! Have yet to see it at night, but I'll take pics this evening to show it glowing. Here are the images:

Look forward to the night pics

Looks good. Did you do the install and was it tough? Any details how to do the install? If you had it done, was it pricey?

It cost $45 approx on Ebay, not too bad. I had it installed by my stereo place for $50, I started doing it myself last night but after removing the lower "facade" under the steering wheel, I couldn't figure out from there what else I needed to remove to get to the gauges, so I just figured why mess something up.

Is the kit just the faceplates, or are the needles included, too? (At that price, I'd expect just the gauge faces.)

just the gauge faces, they slip on over the needles. At least the needles are a nice red color to begin with, so it matches.

Well since I didn't do it myself, I can't say what to look out for. If you are really hurting for $50-75, then try it yourself. Otherwise, I just suggest having an audio installer do it for you, much less hassle and they'll do it right. I dropped mine off this morning at 9 and they had it ready by noon.

Intelligent gauges? What do you mean by that? They haven't helped me get any better gas mileage yet I'll take some pics at night, but I've got another 4 hour or so of daylight left here. And as far as the switch goes, i dont mind the location, When I went to first look at the gauges, I didnt even notice the switch until the installer told me where it was, so its not very obvious, although the photos make it look more obvious. See the last photo at the top, you can't see it at all.

I guess I'm just an old fuddy duddy, but I really like the titanium-looking color on the OEM gauges. It's different from what you generally see, and I like that. But, then, I also like the bone-colored gauge faces on the Murano, and people b!tch like crazy about those.

Go figger.

oh and Joseph, the dimmer switch doesnt do anything anymore, but the new gauges have their own dimmer switch... and havent yet completely replaced the lcd color yet, hopefully I'll have one of the bulbs changed to blue today so I can tell if that's the color I like, then we can order some this afternoon and replace them all next week.

Chris, are you actually going 8 mph with zero rpms on the tach?

You shouldn't try to take pictures while driving. You could hurt yourself.

I actually don't dislike the factory gauges. However, these new gauges look great at night.

I agree. I kinda wish they didn't have those big white circles in the middle, though. Nice blackout gauges with glowing blue numerals and red needles would look good.

looking sweet chris. So, do you need rehab for your modding addiction or what? No, don't deny it, that only proves you have a problem. Sucks about having to wait til Mon. for the info screen. Seeing your night pics was worth the wait. but the other pic of guages is different from your's.

The km/h and MPH are in diff spots, the # are a diff font, and the center is not lit like your's.

You should try to get the odometer and trans indicator to blue, or red. Is the blue in the guages or did you have the bulbs changed?

I just can't believe you're getting all this done, and I thought my Max was spoiled... she may get jealous of your's.

Chris I Like.

If I didn't have the Orange Beast, I probably change it. But the orange goes with my orange car. "it's got to be a orange thing"

Very nice...

The only thing im not sure about is the orange that still remains. Think there is a way to change those as well? If not to blue, i think red would look good to. During the day do they light up as well like the stock ones do?

Any blue you see in the night pics is from the gauges themselves, didnt swap out any LEDs. And yes, I see now that the gauges posted above are slightly different than mine, I like 'em both, but I'm definitely happy with mine. And Maxima80, yeah I know I have a modding addiction, but getting the LED screen changed will be the last for awhile, I've been going with the relatively inexpensive upgrades so far, and I've got a new grille that I thought was going to be delivered yesterday, but maybe it'll come today or monday. I gotta save up some money now for a cruise in October and then save up some more, but I want to do new exhaust and eventually lower it a bit when they come out with new shocks to go with the lowering springs.
