I had no problems before or after the rotation regarding vibration or shimmy. On the other hand, I specifically went to a hi-performance shop to have the work done because I was afraid the Nissan techs would mar the rims.

Turns out that was unneccesary because the dealership just did a state inspection and the rims were fine afterwards.

Rotation has been good for me. I do the first one at 3K, then every 5K after that. I'm at 12K with the car now, and tire wear has been very even all around.

I do the first one early because when the tires are new the tread is at its deepest. This results in more flexing of the tread when cornering, and the potential for more uneven wear. A quick first rotation helps to give the tires a good "even" start.

When you do rotate from front to back, you may notice that the steering may have changed in regards to drifting at highway speeds, or the steering wheel may be off center when going straight. While an improper alignment may cause this, it is possible that the different set of tires in the front may be the cause. All tires do not track the same.

And finally, I do my own roatation. It gives me a chance to examine the brakes, suspension and other parts for wear, breakage, leakage, etc. It also lets me properly torque the lug nuts, which most garages won't do.

rotation and alignment

I was wondering if I am the only one that is having this problem. I have had the alignment checked and I watched them do it. However I am in the green on all settings and have a ZERO degree thrust angle.

those are the original Eagle RS-A's with 14000 miles on them. I had them rotated at 7500 and noticed it shortly after the rotation. It was probably there before the rotation.

That is totally normal, and it is call "feathering" of the front outside
edges. The best way to get rid of it is to "cross" over the front
two tires, so they now roll the opposite way, and they will gring
the feathered edges off. Then, after about 3,000 miles, do a
front to back rotation. That way, all of the edges wear the same.
I have 4,000 miles on my front tires, and they are feathering.
Time for me to cross them over.

Michelin's website says this is caused by too much toe in. Any thoughts?

Doubt it. Seems like it happens all of the time. Just look at various
cars in a parking lot. If in doubt have the toe checked, which is
about all that can be done to a front wheel drive car any way.
