4 Speed Automatic for '05 SE?

I was looking at the '05 Maxima on Nissans website (the '05's are on there now), but i noticed that it said 4 speed automatic on the SE and 5 Speed on the SL, I thought it was the other way around (4 speed on SL and 5 Speed on SE), or for that fact, i thought the 4-speed tranny was being abandoned altogether. Does anyone have any info on this? Maybe its a typo on the website? Please help because im about to buy soon! Thanks

You should be able to order it, sign the deal, and lock the percentage - at least it would assure you of getting what you want and put them in the position of ensuring the interest rate - you'll have to wait for delivery, but as long as you get the car and the interest rate, the wait would be worth it...good luck, and post pics of whatever you end up with - smoke and orange would be a GREAT combination!!

idnumber1 - In case there is any lingering doubt, NO Maxima of ANY variety, lineage, option package, body style, color, etc has been built with a 4 speed tranny since February 5th of this year. Period. Big faux pas by the dealer's data entry person.

As to the burnt orange interior, that is available ONLY on the SE, ONLY with spirited bronze, onyx or smoke exteriors, and ONLY with the elite package. As Nissan has not yet entered the '05 Maximas into its website inventory (should happen within a few weeks), you may have some trouble finding exactly what you want at this time.

I designed an 05 on Nissan's site last night, and you can check dealer inventory. Must of just updated it.

Thanks, Maxima80. I bet Nissan 'turned on' the '05 options on their site Sept 1st. That was the day my dealer moved his seven '05 Maximas from the back lot (supposedly closed to the public) to 'front and center' right beside the front door. He also got in five more '05 Maximas either yesterday or today. He now has 12 '05 Maximas.

One interesting point - One of the new '05s was a coral sand SL with elite package. One of the options listed was 'Traction Control System - $300'. My dealer has had two '05s with the 'DVC/TCS/full size spare on OEM alloy wheel - $900' option '05 Maximas, but this is the first time I have seen the 'TCS only' option on any Maxima in months.
