HLSD equipped 6spd

Is it very difficult to find an HLSD-equipped 2K4 6spd?

I checked a few of my local dealerships (in the San Francisco
Bay Area) recently and not a single one has it in stock. Next,
I did a search on all local dealerships within a 100 mile radius
and I discovered that among the hundreds of 2k4 Maximas
available there were just a handful available with the 6spd
transmissions--- and none of them were equipped with the
HLSD.

How many 2k4 6spd owners on this board have HLSD option?
Was it difficult for you to find one in your area?
Thanks for your time!

I tried to get one with HLSD. They are indeed very rare. Are the 2005s even offering HLSD?

Yes, they are difficult to find - I ended up ordering mine and waiting 3+ months. It's a shame you're on the left coast - I'd make you a deal on mine.

I heard the LSD was discontinued and Traction control is available. Acura TL has LSD.

I'd say they're *very* hard to find. I ordered mine as well - and since I haven't extensively driven a 6MT Max *without* the HLSD, I can't vouch for the difference it makes. I opted for it since I did have to order anyway, and I had heard here on the forum that it helped with the torque steer (IMHO, not much).

Thanks for the responses!
I thought perhaps that only Northern CA Nissan dealers were not
ordering any HLSD Max's, but it seems as if only Canadian 2k4 6spd
Maximas came standard with it and HLSD 2k4 6spd's are extremely
difficult to find no matter where you are in the U.S.

Yes, I believe that HLSD is no longer available for the 2k5 6spd
Maximas (that's why I was looking around for 2k4's).
I am not sure if the traction control option is only available
for the automatics (as they were for 2k4 Max's).

Anyway, thanks again. I am going look closely at the Infiniti G35.
