Service Engine soon after Intake Install

Service Engine soon after Intake Install
Has anyone had their 'service engine soon' light pop on after throwing in an intake?
I just put in my Berk Technology intake and the car acted funny at first and I noticed I didn't fully seat the Air sensor so I went back and fixed that, but my engine light didn't shut back off. Did I mess something up? Will this shut off after x miles? Should I reset the ECU?
It does sound and look sweet though.

I have the Injen CAI installed 6 months ago and this morning the service engine light came on. If the light does not go away, I'll have to re-install the original nissan intake cause Nissan will give you all kinds of excuses not to fix your car. I also need to have my skyroof replaced since Nissan Motors sent me a postcard about Skyroof recall. Wait for a few days and if the light does not go away, re-install the old one and make an appointment to have your car inspected.

I just installed my Berk yesterday and haven't had any issues yet (Knock on wood). But I do hear a bit of a whistling noise when accelerating. Is that normal with the aftermarket filter?

I was able to kill the light for now by following these instructions. I doubt I have a real problem. I think I pissed off the computer by running that car with no sensor.
ECU Resetting Procedures
Timing is extremely critical. If it is NOT DONE within the specify time, the ECU will not reset and the Check Engine Light (CEL) will continue to remain ON.
A stop watch or an analog clock with a seconds needle will be useful.
Operations Procedures
1. Confirm that accelerator pedal is fully released, turn ignition switch ON and wait 3 seconds.
2. Repeat the following steps (2a and 2b) procedures quickly five times within 5 seconds.
2a. Fully depress the accelerator pedal (HARD).
2b. Fully release the accelerator pedal.
3. Wait 7 seconds, fully depress the accelerator pedal and keep it for approx. 10 seconds until the CEL starts blinking.
4. Fully release the accelerator pedal (while the CEL is still blinking)
5. Wait about 10 second.
6. Fully depress the accelerator pedal and keep it for more than 10 seconds.
7. Fully release the accelerator pedal (The CEL light will continue to blink).
8. Turn ignition switch to OFF position and now you can start the car. The CEL light should be gone.
If the CEL light continues to remain ON, repeat the above steps. Timing is EXTREMELY critical to resetting the ECU.

As for the skyroof, I'll bring it back tomorrow to have it replaced. Before I took the car to the dealer, I replaced the Injen CAI with the stock intake. According to the service advisor, the warranty is good up to 36,000 miles.

now, the dealer you purchased from may be more likely to charge Nissan instead of you or not at all. there's no real standard.
I would always try the free AutoZone testing first.

There is only one way to reset the ECU, and thats by following the procedure outlined above. Many people (including me) had this issue when I had the 350z.
For: (some or none may apply to the Max)
-ECU Resetting Procedures
-Accelerator Pedal Release Position Learning
-Throttle Valve Closed Position Learning
-Idle Air Volume Learning (Throttle Position Learning)
