G35 coupe killa
G35 coupe killa
I just thought that all of you would like to know that the other week I took my friend to drop his sonatta off at hyundai and when I was pullin out a guy from the serivce department was pullin out in a 04 G35 coupe w/ a 6spd and he wanted to race me. I agreed since I wanted to see how my baby would hang with him. This guy was so cocky at the light sayin that I should make sure my tc was off and to turn my air off cause I needed every little bit to stay wit him. Little did he know that I have a 04 6spd se wit no tc and was not affraid. When that light turned green I spun like crazy and he gripped before me so he was a head by a lil. when I slammed into 2nd I jumped right next to him, then I chirped 3rd and it was all over. I was about a car and a half a head doin about a 110 i threw on the flashers and had the biggest smile on my face ever. When he pulled up to me at the next light the look of amazement on his face was great he could not believe he just lost to me he was so impressed wit the performance of such a big car. So for all of you rockin the max, you really do own an awesome sport sedan that can hold its own with most other cars on the road.
So what your trying to say is that your car that weights nearly the same as the G35 and has 15 hp and tq less from the factory than the G35C beat him from 0-110? This seems highly unlikely but it could have been driver error on his part.
Nice kill, but I think you won because of his lack of skills. I would have liked to see the look on his face though - tail between the legs and everything...heheh.
This kinda thing happens all the time on motorcycles. These punks with their CBRs and R1s think they can spank anyone on the street. Most of them should have learned how to shift before rolling up next to me.

I also own a cbr 600 and have never been spanked by a car, but I laugh at any car that would wanna race me, bikes should race bikes. and by the way the guy drove good as hell in the g35, he didnt miss a gear and he even got a better start then me.
Good Kill! I dont see why it couldnt take the g35c. Many 04 maximas have ran low 14s stock and G35c is around low 14s stock so I would think it would be a drivers race. If someone in a 5.5 gen said they beat a stock G35c Im sure people woudnt hesitate to say nice kill. Ive raced a 5.5 gen 6 speed and we were dead even so the 6th gen is right on par with em. Wish I could race a g35 or 350z just so I could say from first hand experience. Nice to see that the 5.5 gen guys are checkin out our forum.
You were doing 110 in city traffic between traffic lights? That insanity aside, you must have been by far the better driver. Your car is pushing ~217 to the wheels, the G - about 230 rwhp bone stock. Looking at the fastest track times, let's compare apples to apples. Fastest 6th gen I know of ran a 14.2. Fastest G I know of ran a 14.0 stock (and again, there might be some quicker ones out there that I don't know of). For both cars the 6MT/5AT factor is nowhere as important as it is for the previous generation Maximas. I know that the street is not a 1/4 mile track and it's not a dynojet either, so give your max a friendly pat and thank goodness that the other guy didn't know how to drive...
thanx glude, im happy someone understands that both cars are so close in power that it is a drivers race, and thats the only kind of race i want. any moron can win a race if there car has that much more power, but when it comes down to it your skills should be what gives you that win.

Car vs bike is obviously no contest unless the rider is a total newbie.
If you're sure the guy was rowing the gears pretty well, then my hat's off to ya....

At first I really didn't like the new styled Maxima - but it's grown on me and it's a potential canidate for a new car when it's time. I do miss the RWD of my previous car so I might go for a lightly used G35 sedan... I have a while to decide tho...
