Two quick Newbie Questions

I have had my 04 Max for 2 1/2 weeks now and have a couple of quick questions

1) Dpes everyone have a heavy grinding feel when you reverse coming from the front end / tires. I can feel and hear a grind like sensation on the steering wheel and on my foot. Is it just me or.....

2) The seat memory function, the dealer set it up for me, but everytime my wife takes my car, and I get back into it, I insert my key and nothing. I have tried resetting by

*putting the key to on (not turning on the car)
*set my seat and steering wheel preference
*press set, and then 1 for 5 seconds, it flashes

What I am doing wrong, I have followed the manual'

Any help would be greatly appreciated, thank you all in advance

I LOVE MY MAX

Not sure about the memory cuz I decided against it (wish I had now) but definately don't have any grinding. I'd take it back to the dealer, could've been abused during a test drive. How many miles did it have when you drove it off the lot?

you have to hold set for 5 sec, then it flashes then choose 1 or 2 for 2 seconds. press that number to get your settings if it gets changed. there is a way to program the 2 keyfobs to 1 and 2, but the key has nothing to do with it, except for turning the car on.

You have to select which memory you want. 1 or 2. say 1 is you and 2 is your wife.

Read the section in your owners manual about setting the key fob along with programming your seat settings. This should take care of your problems. When correct you will notice the difference when your wife puts her key in and when you insert yours in the ignition as well.

Good Luck!

The description starts on page 3-19 in the manual - it covers setting up the memory positions, linking the positions to the key fob, and the description of the key and when the seats move to positions if you have a car equipped with the seat movement functions for entering and exiting turned on with the system settings in the computer.
