BOSE CD Audio Problems

I have a 6th gen Se with the bose system. I have noticed That when playing CDs the volume coming from the left side of the car is much louder and more clear than the driver side. I heard the left channle go out after hitting a bump. So i though it was my immagination. But i used the fader to fade the sides and the left side was all muted and garbled. I make most of my own cds and the rest are bootleg but I burned from windows with high quality and do not think that is an issue. I changed input to Sat radio and it was playing full stereo.I changed the fade and it seemed even to me. Could there be a problem with the output of the cd player or is it the cds? If anyone else had this problem pease let me know.

I think this was an issue that occurred with the 5th gen. Ask in there. The fix will be to have the car go back to the dealer.

I had that problem with my cd player too. A few other people around here said they had the same issue with both previous generations and with teh 6th generation. The dealer replaced it under warranty (The paperwork said it's a $700 Cd player - some quality for that price). The mechanic there was telling me he sees this problem a lot.

On the matter of quality, our CD player just quit and the entire assembly was replaced under warranty, though the rest of the system was working fine. There was never a problem with our last Max -- a 5th gen. Go figure!

can they just replace the cd player or do they have to replace the whole navi unit.....I guess the system has component parts so they should be able to repalce just the cd player right?

We didn't have the navi system, so I don't know what they would do. But, as said, I was very surprised that hey put in all new system when the only problem was the CD player.

The cd player and tape deck seemed to be one unit. There is a metal harness that everything screws into, cd player, tape deck, dvd player and nav screen, and he just took it apart and replaced the stereo part. It looked like the cd player and tape deck could seperate from the harness as two pieces, but the new unit that was sent had them attached, so maybe they can't seperate...

There are other threads on this but basically the Clarion head unit is the problem and Nissan is replacing them. And yes, the tape deck and tuner come together as a unit. Bose does not make or specify any head units (tape deck or tuner), Nissan and (other car manufactuers) just put the name on the tape door for some reason known only to them.

do your self a favor and get an aftermarket system. I changed the head unit 3 times already still the same problem. Dealer says it is burnt cd's that i use. I switched over to the pioneer avic n1 and i love the damn thing it is great.
