problems with my 04 ls

I took my car thursday for front pass strut knocking ABS light stays on, Brake light stays on. gas gauge dont work no heat or AC,outside temp. not working and just got it back today. The only thing that was done was the front pass strut was replaced for the third time since june of 04. AS for the other things I have to bring the car back when ever they get the parts in. Oh yeah and the cd player doesnt work ordered that too. Im ready to get rid of this car. Buy me a 02 or 03 max.

Geez, that's a lot of problems that I've never heard from anyone else... sounds like you may have gotten a lemon. Seriously... struts, yeah, we've all heard of that, but gas gauge, heat, AC? I've never heard of anyone having problems with those, let alone all of them on one car.

I'm really sorry to hear you've had such a bad experience with what is really a very good car. I would lean on your dealership to give you a good loaner and prioritize your repairs, given the extent of the problems you've been suffering.

Yeah you definately got a bad one.......do you know the date was it Monday or Friday ( I wonder how true that is M or F cars arent built as good)? You can get that info from your dealer.

You can just check the build date on the door pillar. Then look at a calandar to see what day it was born on. Mine was born on a Sunday....

There are several TSB's out there for some of those problems. Check the TSB sticky

Like Monte's cars, my '04 SL has only a two digit month and two digit year as a 'build date'.

dafowl1 has obviously run 'afowl' of somebody; just too many problems I have not heard of in over a year and a half of reading here. Are you sure somebody didn't just slip a Maxima body over a Chevy chassis? I would not like having no heat or AC. Not even for one day.

I do remember some folks having a gas guage problem about a year ago. One or two had a bad guage, but IIRC, several had to have their tank drained and lowered, and the sending unit and float replaced.

Unless I am mistaken, the brake light staying on is a 'first' here. That should not be difficult for the dealer to fix.

The ABS light is more complex, but I seem to remember a TSB on that.
