Mine is on order. Apparently CE is out of stock on the y-pipe for manual transmisssions. I'll let you know as soon as I get it installed.

Got it installed yesterday. Noticable difference when getting on it. Got the car dyno'd as well and at least a 10 hp and torque gain. Doesn't really change the sound that much unless again you get on it and its a slightly deeper roar. Very satisfied with it.

Yeah i luckily wasn't charged being they prototyped it on my car, but i did pay for it basically through the cost of the dyno's.

Does anyone know why the manual transmission model is $299 and the autotragic transmission model is $199?

CE Y-Pipe

Is it street legal? I noticed the CE web site said for off-road or show use.

Maybe CE says "For off road and show use only" becuase they are relieving themselves of liability if it is illegal in some states?

Y Pipe

Right, that beckons the question, what states can you get away with the Y-pipe. Does it affect smog tests? If not, the only other question is it may be noticed during the physical inpection prior to smog? If it is a plug and play y-pipe, then it could be removed and replaced with stock prior to smog?

Mysterman, A few Questions!!

1. Is this a bolt on type Project? Meaning no cutting just loosen- remove- bolt on- thats it.

2. Did you leave your whole exhaust stock except the y pipe?

Pretty sure a y pipe voids any warranty work for engine damage.

Yes it was just a bolt on project, and yes the whole exhaust is still just stock.

As far as the warranty goes, i'm over 36k so i don't really care anymore.

candian ****: The auto pipe is on sale as we are trying to get alot out there and recoup some of the tooling costs that went into the part. The manual pipe is out of stock now but we hope to have them before Christmas.

We only have a few of the automatic trans pipes in stock now. After they are sold out it will be a few weeks before we can get a hold of some more. So if you want them for a Christmas present order this week or you may not see it until after new years.

Check our our site, I just put up the dyno results on James auto 2004 maxima. 12 hp and 11ft lbs torque to the wheels!!! I expect to see more on the manual. Dyno results on the manual will be next week on the prototype.

Thanks,
Greg

i believe you will pass the smog test once the main cat heats up. drive around for a couple minutes before having the test done. As for the physical inspection i don't know.....

Nice dyno charts. Its a very impressive gain for a bolt on like that.

When the vehicle was tested in the base line chart...was it stock?

Yup all stock, I think he may only have an Injen intake but not 100% sure. James are you reading this?? If so can you let us know if you have any mods done??

I would think he had the Injen intake based on the HP on the base chart. I think a bone stock 04 is putting down about 215-218 to the wheels. So the 221HP in the base chart would lead me to belive there is an intake on it. Either that or a UDP. Or it could be a factory freak!

All stock, unless if its that CF engine cover that adds all that extra hp...jk of course. No intake yet either.

Just got the pipe in today and it looks good. Quick question though. when looking at the pipe towards the back portion, there is a flat spot near the mounting post or rod that is roughly 6 inches long and runs to the weld of the flex section. Is this supposed to be there or was this a problem in shipping?

The flat spot is suppose to be there. It's to help clear the cross member.

If you look at the stock pipe, it has a really big flat spot in the same area. The flat spot plus the cat is probably the most restrictive part of the stock system.
