My Berk Intake Install w/ pics

Finally picked up my Berk intake yesterday from Wicked Garage. Had to wait a couple of weeks because Wicked and Berk were waiting for more to be made.

All went well after about 2 hours for the installation, mainly because the instructions provided were for the 00-03 Maxima. I assume this was just an oversight by the person who packaged it.

I have not seen the 2004 installation procedures yet, but there are some differences...

I went out to Simi Valley to have a friend help me with the install. I am a driver, not a mechanic. I would have to say, it was a very easy install, and I could definitely do it again with no problem.

On to the pics...

LOL, funny you should say that, Engine was cleaned about 5 minutes AFTER we took those pics. Thought about re-taking them, guess I should have.

I guess you guys with the intakes arent gonna put the SSR supercharger on?? I was going to go for a Berk, but if the SC comes out, I'll save my $200 or so.

The supercharger isn't going to be out for a while, so for the time being having the intake will do. Not to mention, in my case at least, i may not have the funds for the supercharger for a while.

I suppose you can recoup the cost of the intake if u go the SC route. Im sure there would be plenty of takers. If I wasnt going to go with the SC, Iwould buy the intake, but I think the SC is the way to go on this car if u have the funds. Big comfortable car, with 350 hp, and 6 speed. Yeah!!! Hurry SSR!!!!

Dumb question. On my 2005 SE it looks like the air intake is right above the grill. It seems the air is almost forced straigt in as you drive since it is at the front the car. Is the air intake replacement mostly cosmetic or should it give you a performance boost? Thanks.

I know next to nothing about this stuff. I know that cold air is denser and that's supposed to be better for combustion but it looks like that Berk intake isn't that low to the ground and the stock intake is right in front, taking in "forced air" as the car moves down the road. That seems better to me, I know that I am most likely wrong but I don't understand why. Is is just a matter of the Berk being a bigger intake, hence more air coming in?

Also couldn't get that link to open up www.berktechnologys.com

Thanks

I haven't seen the engine layout of the 2005, but doubt if much has changed there. Compare your layout to the pictures at the top of this thread. Most likely it will fit just fine.

I sure wish I would have had the correct directions when I got mine. Would have saved me some time.
