sorry to hear that, so do u guys think that we should change our alarm systems to Viper or Clifford ??? even though these aftermarket alarm systems are pricey but I heard they're worth every penny.

"if they want it they will take it" what more can they offer besides noise? we already have an "immobilizer" this is what insurance is for.

the nav system on your car doesn't transmit, it only receives so you have no idea where your car is from gps.

And as mentioned, if they want to they can put the car on a platform and haul it off. Alarms, immobilizers, etc they'll stop the "casual" thief but they won't stop the professsionals.

Sorry to hear what happened to your Max Tiny. I lived in Brooklyn till i joined the Marines, now i am in MD and have my Max, from the day i bought it, promised myself i would NEVER drive it to NY. Enterprise rent a car is the solution for me. Not to say MD is any better, but i have my own parking area here. I hope your situation gets resolved. I have no confidence in insurance companies at all. I bought a 04 Sentra new four months ago, it was totalled, and the insurance company came four grand shy from the actual value of the vehicle. The damn thing didnt even have two thousand miles on it...bastards.

You can install a system called Guidepoint...it works kinda like onstar...they can track your vehicle, unlock via satellite, and much much more.

well, we all know on the 6th gen, just jam a screw driver in the driver side door lock and turn, windows will go right down. then your inside , turn it the other way, close the windows and get in the car, you got all the time u need to mess with things to get her fired up. like 1 person said on here, IF THEY WANT IT, THEY WILL TAKE IT. could have gotten in, popped up the pin to pull it out of Park and pulled it away somewhere or on a flat bed, never know in NY. they may have pushed it.

If you live in brooklyn check the area under the gowanus on third ave between 20th street and 60th there are tons of palces to leave a car and watch. I am sure Nissan could track the nav but it does not good if indoors or in a shipping container. YO PAL your car looks dope. An for you buddy I hope you get your car back My friend s wife got jacked for their cl600 and they found the car in one piece under an overpass in the BX dont give up just pressure the detectives who are working on your case......OH and one more thing you didnt have any outstanding tickets? you know they will tow for like $100 in nyc. Good Luck

Sorry to hear about that. Sucks that we work hard for what we want and on the drop of a dime it gets taken away. Like everyone else is saying though, the ticket blitz in NY has gotten crazy so hopefully you didn't have anything outstanding. Try speaking to the dealer you bought it from. Maybe they know of a tracking method. But hope that everything works out and that you find your car untouched.

Detectives wont be looking for anything... they have ALOT better things to do than look for your car. Its a property crime where you'll get your money back so they dont really care. They'll contact you when its found stripped somewhere or its pulled over.

Outstanding tickets over a few months no matter how much you owe will cause your car to get towed. Theres a website you can go to where you can punch in your license plate and it will tell you if you have any outstanding tickets.. I think its on the DMV's website.

Sorry to hear about your car. I hope by some miracle the police can find the losers that stole it. Maybe even recover the car intact.

Regards

Nick

Sorry to hear about your car. I bet you must feel like you just got violated and don't know if you should scream or punch the wall. I put my car in the garage and park close to where I can see my car at work, which is right outside my classroom... Hope it gets resolved for you.

Damn man sorry to hear that.
What part of NY are you at, I drive up to Norwood right by the canadian border, and i can surely say that weather is killer in the winter. How does your SE handle in it? I have yet to try out mine for it has yet to snow where i am at.

Once the cops write the ticket, it goes to the fine folks at the Dept. of Finance... they LOVE me and my car... bastards...

I posted the link to the Parking Violations Portal before, but I don't think it was ever stickied... here it is anyway:

http://www.ci.nyc.ny.us/html/dof/html/pvomain.html

They added a couple of more things to it, like info on disputing tickets, locating towed vehicles, etc. As far as getting towed, the cutoff IIRC is $250 (or was it $350) in combined fines. If you have 2-3 cars, then it's spread out over all the registrations. When it exceeds the cutoff, the car that's found on the street gets towed.

Keep that in mind if you have multiple cars under your name or if somebody else drives a car registered to you and they don't like paying tickets... someday you might wake up and the Sheriff has your stuff...

That's why I see so many 6th Gens around my town with the driver's side doorlocks all messed up. I didn't think they actually took them though. I wonder why they dont do this on 5th Gens also.
