2005 Maxima info?

I read a post by someone saying this model was out (They had one). Where can I find info/pics/differences between the new ones and my '04?

The info on nissanusa.com seemed identical to the '04's and even though this is a brand new body style I would expect some small styling changes just to make it distinguishable from the current model.

Thanks

The '05 model has been out for a couple of months already. The most obvious visual change, I think, is Nissan changed the brushed metal finish of the interior so it does not scratch as easily.

Also, traction control comes standard now all the models.

I'm sure I missed a few things that others will mention after me.

Very good reference, PaL379.

Smoke Screen, be aware only a portion of the '05s made from August till sometime in November had traction control. If your car is not made this December or later, you need to check for TC on a car-by-car basis.

Other nitpickers:

The '05 engine meets ultra low emissions requirements (ULER). The '04 did not (but WAS low emissions - (LER).

In addition to the new air bag 'occupant' light, the entire air bag system on the '05 is more sophisticated than the '04.

The '05 leather is supposedly softer and more luxurious.

Auto-dimming outside mirrors are available as an option.

Supposedly, all four brake calipers have been changed from a gold/mustard to black. I was unable to see any difference myself. Maybe a 'late' implementation?

Cargo net and hooks have been redesigned.

PaL379's reference covered the important things.

Extra power outlet located to the upper right of the shifter.

I personally like the power outlet near the passenger leg area. I have a plug in oil diffuser and I don't think it would work as good if I had to plug it in vertically. I'm assuming they no longer have this one and instead have the one near the shifter.

I guess I'd have to see the new console in person, the pics look very similar to the '04 but it does scratch easily. Maybe after someone guts their dash I can snag the factory '05 console panel. My calipers are the brass/gold - I'd like to see the OEM 'black' if this is a feature.

I posted a comment on Elmo's page - thanks guys (PS - about dang time the 05's came out!)

Smoke Screen - My dealer had two '05 Maximas on hand on August 8th, and had sixteen '05 Maximas on his lot later that same month. There were a few dealers slow about ordering the '05s (probably got caught with too many '04s on hand), but most should have had '05 Maximas by Labor day, at the very latest.

I plug in a small ozone stink remover thingy on the passenger side outlet. And a Palm Pilot recharger in the armrest compartment.

I'm really missing the extra outlet that the 05's have. I want to plug in a coffee maker for the drive to work.

Ah, so it is an "extra" one...I was wondering if it was a 3rd, or it just moved.
