How noisy are your wipers?

We've had a lot of rain here in Chicago lately. My wipers seem to me to be quite noisy--at both ends of the wipe. Sounds like a '64 VW bus. I did use some RainX about 2 weeks ago. I wonder if that's the prob?

maybe...was it noisy already before u started using RainX or after? I havent used that product yet and my wipers are not noisy either. maybe the other "more knowledgeable" Max owners can give u a more accurate answer.

My dad's car a little while back had really really noisy wipers. Used to **** me off. I just bought him new wipers and the noise went away. I think maybe you should just get new wieprs.

I just bought some Micro Edge wipers and they are very quiet. Again, buy new ones.

Silent. You need new blades.

And yes, I'd guess the Rain-X has something to do with your noise too. I hate the stuff. You'll probably have to scrub it off with something glass-safe like Dutch Cleanser, or just let it wear off over the next few months. It's a waxlike substance and I found it made for a "haze" when the wiper passed over it, kinda like when you use the hot wax at the self-service car wash and get it on your windshield. Quit using that crap.

Mine has started making noise as well across the glass with no Rain-X ever applied. I've been meaning to get new wipers. For those who got new wipers and it fixed the noise, did you get just the blade refills, or did you get the whole arm assembly?

The whole thing, but it is probably the blade making the noise. Just get the whole set because changing the blade is not as reliable as changing the whole thing, and plus, its only a few dollars difference.

Yeah, but it's more GREEN to just get refills.
